Meet Ivic! (WIP thread)

So finally I made a WIP thread for Ivic's suit! This has been some intense work and if I do say so myself some of my best work so far. Despite not really having time for anything anymore I managed to get quite a lot of work done on this beautiful bab. I'm going to be sad the day I have to give him over to his owner
But I know he will love him!

Early concept of the ears... I made dragon ears by making inverse fox ears XD XD

I forgot to take pics of the actual process of making the ears and patterning the shape but I got the right shape for them and I was quite pleased by how the look was coming together
Also dem smexy brows :D
Smoothed them out quite nicely, gave it a very nice rounding

Hey, that is turning out wonderfully, Yote. :D It looks fantastic so far. I always find it fascinating to see fursuit W.I.Ps, and the creativity that goes into them. I look forward to seeing more!

... Does the fursuit come with an Ivic Hug System, specially designed to break backs with even more effectiveness? :P

AAAAAAND here is the overall progress so far
He's come a really long way so far and I'm uber proud of him so far! Defs one of my best so far, I've put so much attention to detail in him. I can't fekkin wait to finish him and see him being appreciated.
Admittedly he has taken way too long to have gotten this far but the amount of shit I had to deal with was unreal hahaha
Gonna try and finish him as soon as possible, just gotta fix that pesky sewing machine
photo_2018-02-26_11-09-00.jpg
Side note, sorry for the noise and grain in the images. Many times I have been working into the late night and I take pictures when I'm done. I only have a tungsten bulb in my "Studio" so it's not ideal for photos hahaha

Why Thank you sir!

Yes! Extra strength reinforced arms for super crushing power!
Makes me think, I should actually double stitch those arms
You know just in case!

Those look incredible, Yote! The fur itself looks realistic, and I'd imagine they are a pleasure to wear after a bath before bed. :P ... And with the rest of the fursuit on other occasions, too.
How did you do the claws?

Thank you! When I saw this fur in the store I was like YESSSSS this is it!
I love that shortpile fur!

They are quite comfy to wear a bit on the big side for my feets, but my own is soon to come ^.^

I hand shaped each claw individually with FIMO Baking clay.

They came out much better than expected, the first footpaw took me a week because I had to work through snags and issues but the second footpaw took me about a day to finish off since I knew exactly what to do.

Thank you all so much for the positive feedback!

I'm nearing the finish of this commission now and I have to say BOI this one was challenging!
I literally pushed every single boundary I could making ol' Ivic here and I am quite pleased with the results so far, be it life got in the way... a lot

I'm planning on finishing the head fur this weekend along with a few rounding off details and smaller things. I would say the most daunting part of building a suit for me is patterning and furring the head because so much can potentially go wrong and the focal point of a suit is often the head.

I'm staring at this head, I will win but I'll approach this with tact and finesse just like I do with all things I make.

IF ALL GOES WELL Ivic will be at his home within a week or two.

During the making of this suit:

I finished watching the entire Gravity Falls(Just whilst furring the head)
I had probably 6 or so mental breakdowns
I impressed myself with what can be done
I planned more than I built

But ultimately!
I made a Folf a very very happy man

I still think its really cool to see fursuit makers here. It is an iconic part of the furry fandom (and an expensive one!). Having it can certainly boost visibility and, if they are good enough to export, can bring a lot of attention within the fandom too.

Thank you Rakuen! It's certainly been an uphill battle with fursuitmaking in SA but I think it's gaining a lot of traction and I really hope to see more makers on the rise.
I've been pushing myself as much as I can to get on an international standard with my fursuit making skills to be able to share my knowledge with the local community
