Thanks Linea! :D

My eye design is a combination of follow-me (eyelids are slightly bulged away from the eye to achieve the same effect), toony (you can see through them), and taxidermy-style (concave iris for 3-D effect). I've done a lot of research on the topic. ;)

I think I'll post a diagram here just in case anyone else wants to use the idea.

Just a quick doodle, but it gets the idea across.
I might make a proper one at some point.

Can't sleep, figured I may as well post an update. Today (well technically yesterday since it's past midnight) I cut off some irregularities on the horns and put another coat of paint on them, removed the eyes and made most of the tape dummy.

Please oh please, tell me you're going to put that on and lie down next to your boyfriend and wait for him to wake up.

That might lead to her having to redo the head from scratch.

Quite a complex little design but I think the results will be really good.
To maximise visibility, wouldn't you want the inside surface (non-visible, facing your eye, the part around the hole) painted black so you don't have glare?

Yeah um... my boyfriend's fight-or-flight reflex tends to be on the "fight" end of the scale, and I'm not too keen on getting punched in the face and/or shot, thank you very much.

I hadn't thought of that, that sounds like a good idea, thank you. :)
I'll try it out when I make the new set of eyes.

All the heads look scary as fuck before they are finished.
I have to commend you on the horns, they really came out good. Better than the plush versions everyone does.

Thanks Yote!

Yesterday I did some finishing touches on the horns, finished the tongue and lower lip, and cut the pattern for and sewed the ears.

Today I'm going to finish the tape dummy, and I also hope to finish the hair and/or eyes today.

Finished my new eyes! ^^

I took a lot more time and care in making these than in making my prototype, and I have to admit, it really shows.

Tomorrow I'll find some fake lashes to finish off the eyelids, and get started on the hair.

Oh and one last thing: I've been asked to make a set of eyes for someone, and now that I've got the method nailed down I want to kill two birds with one stone and make a how-to video. But that'll probably have to wait until after Stelcon, as I'm running out of time for that. Watch this space.

Thanks Tocs. :)

Here's my to-do list to be done by Friday evening:
  1. Attach eyelids & lashes to eyes
  2. Cut up 2nd wig
  3. Attach hair
  4. Mark tape dummy to ID parts, edges, fur direction, etc
  5. Cut up dummy
  6. Cut out pattern
  7. Stick on fur
  8. Put in eyes
  9. Trim fur around eyes
The first two I can do from home, so I'll do those tonight. 3, 4 and 5 I'll do tomorrow, and hopefully get started on 6. Wednesday I'll finish 6 and try to start on 7. Thursday I'll finish off whatever is left of 6 and/or 7, and finalise with 8. Whatever isn't done by then can be taken care of on Friday, along with 9.

Hopefully with a set-out plan I'll be able to finish in time to première my head at Stelcon. *Squeals with excitement.*

As per schedule, 1 and 2 are done... Except for the lashes, I couldn't find any. I'll check the cosmetics section of Clicks tomorrow. 4 is also mostly done.

Screw the fake lashes. I'll just use a permanent marker as an eyeliner on the eyelids.

4 is done, and I'm going to do 5 and 6 later today.

I'll do 3 and 7 tomorrow.

8 and 9 plus finishing touches will be for Thursday.

In the meantime, here's a workshop snapshot!

Woohoo! Hair is all done and it looks fabulous! Kind of a tribal warrior meets lich queen vibe, love it. I wish I had my 'sona's hair.

Now all that's left is to cut and stick the fur, fit the eyes, and it's all finishing touches from there.

I really like what you have done with the eyes, way different approach from what I took. My eyes are essentially cartoon illusion effect where as your eyes have the actual gleam in them.

Thanks Yote! :) I'll try to hold my promise of a video tutorial for them.

Today I got about a third of the way through with the pattern cutting and furring. I also fitted the eyes but didn't stick them in since I'm not done with the fur around the eye sockets.

Right. Today I have about 3 hours available between jobs to work on this, so I'm going to try and finish the pattern cutting so that if I have to I can take the whole lot home to finish it there.

Oh and interesting fact: the hair is heavier than the horns.

wow that looks amazing
