Show off!

Let's see everyone's tails! Or ears. Or collar. I think it would be nice to have one place for us to share our ways of showing how furry we really are. I for one am getting a collar/dogtag engraved for Christmas, as well as a tail maybe. So show off what you have and don't be shy :)

When Uni isn't trying to kill me, I'll post a picture of my tail.

There are already some galleries in other threads, just look around in this section. I know there's a collars one, the rest is more distributed.

Taka got him a tail. ;)

Don't be embarrassed zangelHusky. It's just a busy time of year so a lot of furs aren't posting at the moment, and a lot have posted their furry accessories (collars etc.) in other posts already. That's not to say this post is useless though: it's about time we had an update on this topic.

I hear what you're saying Ryall and Leeward, I've seen the collar thread. I just thought it would be better to have everything in one place. I'm not generally an organized person, I just think it would be great.

Yeah, I agree with you Zangel.
That's why I said this thread is *not* useless. That was litotes. :)
That and by now, there are lots of new furs who no doubt also have furry accessories. Hence I said we need an updated thread.

I'll have to make my own tail, they don't have anything that looks like a cow tail. I've been working on a design for that, gloves and a head too. *Sigh* I really want to go test/film my new stilts design now!

What about a lion tail? They're kinda similar.

Not really, the tuft is longer and straighter, and the tail doesn't curl up at the end.

Well I've never done this sort of work before so everything I'm doing is 100% experimentation, with some inspiration off the Internet. I've already made a set of anthro stilts that work pretty well so I guess I'm not a complete idiot, but don't treat anything I say as scripture.

For a thinner tail I would start with a wire "spine" that supports the tail's carried attitude, make a left-right symmetric fur casing to match (like Yote did, but his has no wire because it's thick), sew it together with the spine inside (sew it into one of the seams) and stuff as you close it up. The top I would close off with a small round piece of fabric (instead of sewing the two halves together) to give it more volume at the dock. I would also leave some of the wire sticking out at the top and loop it upwards to make an attachment for something like a back brace that allows it to start horizontally instead of just sort of flopping out of the back of your pants. For the tuft I would use either polyester hair or unravelled knitting wool (for that frizzy look).

Wow sounds complicated. But I guess when you know how to do it it becomes easier. You must show us your stilts sometime, that is something I'd like to see.

Nope, I am with you on this one.
I feel like I need to be doing something when brushing my teeth. Electric toothbrushes make me feel lazy. (also I think their efficacy is overrated) :P

Also accessories:

I got a pair of ears at rAge in 2012(I think) and then this hat-thing at the Bloemfontein Vryfees
