Side Project Fursuit

Post by Nash »

Hi everyone!

The past few years have been pretty hectic, leaving little time for me to do the things that usually bring me joy. I've been working on a film and it's got my long-dormant creative juices igniting. I'm going to grab onto this spark of creativity and hold on to it, and go back to something that brought me joy many years ago - fursuit making!

I'm going to do a small personal project, with no pressure and in my own time. I'll probably just make a head and sell him when I'm done. He's gonna be super cool. I'm older now and really want to focus on quality and character.

Anyway, the main point of this post is to ask for some guidance. Faux fur is difficult to find here, and when we do, it's expensive. Does anyone know good places to buy some decent-quality fur for a good price? I'm also looking for buckram for the eyes, as I've thrown my supply out a long time ago. I've got a nice foam shop fairly close to me, so the main issue is fur and buckram.

Any help or recommendations on where to find are greatly appreciated! Thank you.
If you'd like, I can post updates here too.

Cheers!

Heyo, apparently chamdor has a good selection of faux fur.

As for the eyes, you could also try and 3D print some mesh, I designed and printed my own, and it worked pretty well. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/fashion ... t-eye-mesh
