Gallant Galahad's Galvanizing Gallery

Good day, curious onlookers! Welcome to the gallery of Galahad! ;)

Today, we are delighted to present to you...

Nothing - as nothing has yet been completed!

Wait! Wait... Please, put down your pitchforks, extinguish the torches, and drop the rotten fruit. I cannot with a good conscience lure you here with a brand new thread and not exhibit anything, can I? Note that I said there is nothing that is complete which I can display. I do, however, have a work-in-progress for you!

Without further ado... (Click on the image to view a larger and clearer version. Best viewed on a laptop or computer.)
Galahad WIP Preview.png
This has yet to be coloured, shaded and polished, but the lineart is mostly done (about 90%). Also, it is of the entire body - I just had to clip off the lower half when I took the screenshot. I decided I require an anthropomorphic reference of my "dinosona", Galahad, complete with flat cap and glasses -- and what sort of gentlemanly raptor would be without a suit?

I hope to have it complete within the week, though the shading of the clothes is likely to be quite detailed and extensive.

Very Impressive!

He appears to have a very fitting "Don't wast my time" expression.

I suppose I would get in trouble for stealing art if I saved, printed and coloured that in

Here we see Gal, staring off into space, or perhaps his prey. Idly fixing his cufflinks.

I think he needs a whitty belt buckle. Like a fist or something.

Very nicely done Gal! It's looking good!!
That pendant, does it have a story?

Thank you, Cape. :) That is one interpretation. To be honest, I did not have any specific expression in mind when drawing, but I had thought it to be more of a bemused, self-confident, almost smug smile. :P
Kievvu wrote:I suppose I would get in trouble for stealing art if I saved, printed and coloured that in
I nonetheless receive that as a compliment. Thank you, Kievvu! Usually, I would not mind, but with this piece I would prefer if it were untouched by anyone else but me for the time being. ;)

Wardrobe customization - an excellent idea! ;) However, what you see as a pendant is actually just a shirt collar and tie. :P That should be more apparent when I colour and shade. Thank you for the idea and feedback, Adge.

I needed to distract myself, and so I took a few requests on DeviantArt. This is one that I completed yesterday.

Again, this is not my character. Please click the image for a larger and clearer version.

"Paint me like one of your French monsters!"

It is quite humorous to compare that with the reference material I was given: ( CLICK )

I much prefer dark, realistic and scary as opposed to cute and cartoonish. ;)

Thank you all very much for your kind encouragement. :D I appreciate it.

I have just begun working on another request - this time, a full-colour picture of a wyvern (not a dragon!). It is far from complete (I'd estimate it's progress only to be around 10% - 15%), but here is a screenshot of the work-in-progress, currently in the rough sketch phase:

Please click on it to view full-size.

The next post will be of the completed product. :D Hopefully, it will look good.

(Please click on the image above to view it in full-size)

"Alas, Yorick! I knew him well, Horatio!" - Hamlet (Act V, Scene 1)

It would seem Galahad is part-time engineer, part-time impromptu Shakespearean actor, full-time mischief maker. ;P
Out of everything in this picture, that hand was the hardest to draw. It took three tries as I had to adjust the angles so that it would not appear as though Galahad was either in need of an exorcism or was a mutant from the depths of Chernobyl. :XD:

I spent a lot of time on detail. I am moderately satisfied, but ultimately I stopped just because I was getting tired. x_x There are a few more things I would have added (for example, adding more shading to the leather vest), but ah well.

Thank you, Silver! Admittedly, getting to the final product is taking far more time than I thought it would. :P But, alas, I have only my own procrastination to blame! Hopefully, the completed drawing should manifest itself soon.

Work-in-progress time!

Here is a ZA Fur exclusive peek into my current work. It is still a work-in-progress and far from complete, but I thought I'd just give a partial preview, anyways. ;P

Undertale fanart. More specifically, of Frisk (the child and protagonist) and Toriel (aka Goatmom), inspired by THIS in-game sprite:
La GoatMom WIP.png
Please click the image for full view.

Yes, unfortunately, I did have to cut the picture off. XD But given that I had yet to colour what is below this picture's border, you aren't missing out on much at the moment.
And yes, Frisk's eyes do look like that. Check the sprite in the link above. :P I have no idea how he sees, but I guess he learned from Brock from Pokemon.

I have yet to complete refining the lineart, colouring, shading and adding a background, but I hope to have this finished by tomorrow or Tuesday. :D

And yes, I cannot draw humans for shit.

Some vent artwork I completed this evening:
Tired.png
Please click for full view.

Have you ever grown tired of wearing a mask, pretending to be something you are not? I do not mean simply pretending to be happy; I mean truly pretending to be someone you are not. Pretending to have beliefs, to have a mindset, that makes others happy? Eventually, it eats away at you inside. You want to throw away the mask. The mask is not you. It will never be you.

Recently, I have been going through a personal hell, that was largely my own fault. I lost a very close friend, whom I treasured - even if I did not show it as I should have -, and have been paying sorely for my mistakes. Through all of this, I have had to wear a mask - not one of happiness, but pretending to be something I am not. It is a complex story, and no one that can be adequately explained here.. but let's just say it is consuming me inside. The grief, the regret, the loneliness, the act of pretending...

I keep moving forward. I still have strength. But losing so much in one sweep, and then having to wear a mask, it wears you thin.
I wish I could rewind time to prevent this all from happening. I have the experience, and I have made the changes to become a different person. But, alas, some mistakes cannot be undone.

One can only keep moving on, towards a distant light on the horizon.

This too shall pass.

I can't promise that you will never need your mask again, but I suppose it is a type of coping mechanism. Wearing a mask isn't easy. It is a burden in itself. When the pain is fresh, just use the crutch while you heal. The only problem is when your mask becomes more you than you are.

Thank you, Sudan - I really appreciate your words of encouragement. To be honest, the 'mask' - though metaphorical - has a very distinct meaning, and no doubt one or two others here can guess what it is referring to. I'm just looking forward to the day where I can be who I am, with the people I will want to be with. I have no doubt it is coming, but some nights just prove harder to get through than others. Again, thank you. :)
Leeward wrote:Great job on the hand and the cracks. You're getting really good.
Thank you, Lee. :D Admittedly, the hand was what I spent the least effort and time on, so I am glad it is not terrible, haha. Though it was vent artwork, nonetheless I am hoping to improve. I might even open up commissions soon; I just wonder if anyone would be willing to pay for my artwork, yet.

Hello everyone! ;)

Here is a rough sketch I did yesterday - the first phase of an art trade I am doing with another artist on DeviantArt. It is of her dinosona, a raptor named Books. (And may I add, a ridiculously pretty one, at that?)
Books Preview.png
Please click the image for full view.

I will be cleaning this up into proper lineart, then adding colour, shading and lighting - and maybe a background. :D
