Yes, but it's a bit difficult when you add a mussel and ears to a circle. So this was made with a bunch of triangles.

Re: Show off your 'sona
Thanks, but I am going for a more animal like face (less round) so a lot of the circle is removed.

Re: Show off your 'sona
It still works. But each artist develops his own ways of working. Was just trying to show you an easier way. And the circle puts things in a more anatomically correct place.

Re: Show off your 'sona
I agree. I use the circle technique where possible. This time however I am carefully studying some photos. Because I want there to be little doubt about my Fursona's species. With my older pictures you would be forgiven for mistaking him for other canids.

Done for now. Can't really think of anything that will make a difference at 120x120.

Re: Fox front view
I assume when you painted it you painted it bigger than 120x120.
looks nice, you should do a white highlight in the eyes to make them less flat.

Thanks. Still haven't mastered eyes.
These are borrowed from a dramatic black back jackal. The photo was taken by Erna, the friend of my mother who wants to start that SA merchandise business.

Re: Fox front view
They aren't that far off of it, and I can see why you don't have a highlight (he has none) but the light source in your pic and the light source in the jackal pic are in two different spots (yours looks like the sun would either be in high noon hence little to no shadow, or directly in front of subject) so a small white dot in the eye would make them stand out a little.

Re: Fox front view
Was working on the eyes when this happened.
Look what you made me do Raven! I hope you're happy.
I am never going to get him back to his old self. (But that's OK, he was way to serious)

Re: Fox front view
It's a whole new drawing just for the eyes and some face work is going to be done.
Face work, like I'm some kind of surgeon. And colour, he looks so pale, don't you think?

Re: Fox front view
well if he's a red fox, then yeah, his colour is a little pale, but as it's a cape fox, then unless you feel it's pale, I don't think it's too pale... They are very cute foxes though...

Thanks. Don't know when I will get time to paint him. I hate having my parents looking over my shoulder and I have projects due. But when he is no longer mono-chromatic you guys will be the first to know.

Awesome work!
For the most part, it is pointless to be sad in life.
Because sad spelt backwards is das

Re: Fox front view
First I draw this face.
Then I erase some of the finer details.
And Voilà! A perfect circle.
I can use the circle technique if I want to.
Still learned a lot from the previous drawings.
But for some reason he just feels more real/tangible.
