The curse of the artist is a nasty one.
No matter how "skilled" (*cough*as-if*cough*) I get as an "artist" (*cough*amateur*cough*), I never truly feel satisfied with my works, even if I'm proud of them. Granted, I don't do never-ending WIPs, and my view is "if it's signed, don't touch (except under rare circumstances)", but I'm never really satisfied even with works I'm proud of, especially when others mock them (*cough*family*cough*).
I assume this type of misery is not limited to me...
Just felt like putting it out there...

It's definitely not limited to you, I'm sure pretty much every artist has felt that way at some point. As I've said on DA, just keep on arting. Your improvement is clearly visible over time, believe me.

I know it's clearly visible. It just never feels like it's enough, is all I'm saying.

And it never will. Ask any great artist. As you said, it's the artist's curse, being one's own harshest critic.

You're probably not showing the right audience then. Anyone who knows Star Wars would get that immediately. I've stopped showing my art to my family because they're always like "Why do you always draw those weird animal characters? Can't you do a landscape or portrait or something for a change?"

My friends and family know Star Wars. Very well.
