Re: My journey to improvement...
Well here is my attempt at trying to paint and shade it myself. I think the paint went quite well but the shading is kicking my ass.
Well this image is of my sona.
Name: Kirtaro
Species: Lion/sabertooth Hybrid
Time of image: Post Escape from Atlas Tech Labs.
Apparel: Damaged armor and clothing scraped together after the blast.
Edit: i know the apparel doesn't actually look damaged. just know that there is a reason for that and its supposed to be like that.

Re: My journey to improvement...
Very nice! Would you like me to try my hand at shading it?

Re: My journey to improvement...
If you want to sure.
Personally i'd love to see how you would shade it. then i can compare it with my own and see how badly i screwed up or how close i came to success

Re: My journey to improvement...
ok sure, uhm just a warning, i might have screwed up a little bit with what goes on what layer... haha i have most of it correct. like the details, color and line art are separate.... but i kinda did one or two lines of shading on the line art layer *facepalm*
i used the magic wand tool, its like the lasso but instead of you drawing the lines yourself, it follows the darkest lines to create a border. worked brilliantly with the line art. one click and i have the entire hair selected perfectly but once or twice i forgot the switch back to the shading layer -_-
i dont think there are too many. it might just be the one? left hair shade falling on face. (right hand side from our perspective)
Edit: i can fix it. 1 pixel sized eraser? i've done it a few times . fixing mistakes with the very tiny eraser i mean
should i fix it before i send it to you or will you be ok at fixing it?
Edit 2.0: never mind i fixed it now the layers are all perfect in the content they hold. i'll send the GIMP File

ooooh! That looks epic!
