My First Ref Sheet

#1

Post by VoxLupus »

So this is long overdue.

I have never had a ref sheet for my fursona, and since my new years resolution was to draw more, I decided that this was a good place to start.

The lineart is mostly done, I am still considering an appropriate colour scheme.

So here he is. Meet my fursona :D

And draw you did! Excellent work Mr VoxLupus: your fursona looks fantastic. :D
It's quite the improvement on your avatar.
You should clip your nails though: I don't want you scratching me with those things. Footsy footsy with you just seems like a bad idea right now. :P

I never considered that resemblance but I definitely see it now :P

Haha, I will try to get more done today and will post whatever progress I make.

Well Considering I did my current avatar on my phone, that really wasn't hard.
And about that claws, I think it will be fine if you are just a little cautious. :P

Regardless, this is still your best work yet. It really is great! :)
Yeah, but you're so clumsy Mr Vox, and you already have scratched me a few times in the past without having sharp claws. Besides, you'll probsbly tear up my bed linen in your sleep. That's adorable mind you, but expensive. :P
Hahaha!

Ryall, you're a wimp. In our corrupted forms, Taka and I have impossibly sharp claws, but we've never been afraid to get a bit rough with each other.

That looks incredible, well done! The line art is amazing! You've outdone yourself Mr Vox! :D

Make the paws and toes black, and make the eyes yellow. It would look, like, even cooler. Also, maybe turn up the contrast a little so that your fantastic shading shows more.

I don't think I even knew you could draw... It's pretty good though.

Wow. Dig the shading. Subtle mixed with a angular style and great use of colors. This is awesome!

Thanks Rakuen.
I haven't drawn in years. I guess I always start, then disappoint myself and give up. I don't really give my work enough time to develop before deciding whether it is good or not.

Thanks ^^
It took hours to get the face to look right

I have made some more with different colours and toned down the saturation.

What do you guys think looks better?

I think they look like different strength versions of enemies in one of those grindy dungeon games. Now you need to make a black one for the second playthough. And it shoots fire. Out of every scale.

Haha, I am afraid there won't be much fire then since this fuzz dragon has few scales.

I think the last game I played like that was Rogue Legacy, and it did have 'black ones' that shot more fire out in the second play through. :P

"The red ones go fashta!"

But seriously Sev, the red one looks really cool so he's going to stick with that.

He only entertained Contrast's request because it was a funny Monty Python reference. :P

Okay, I googled that reference and found the video from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
It was brilliant; classic MP.

I have watched the first half of it a few times in class at school, but we never got around to watching the second half, I really need to do that sometime.

Even though I prefer the cyan, I think the red one suits you better.
It's got a bit of a Borderlands-ish feel to it which I quite like.
