Yard Mascots
So our stable yard has a newsletter... and I have been put in charge of it (yay!!!)
I was thinking about it and i really wanted to do this a while back and now i have the opportunity... so I made two anthro horses who are the mascots for our yard! They change back to feral form if i need to draw something to do with them being horseys...
anyway meet the two of them:
Will - WillYouBeMine is a tall athletic thoroughbred. He won a few races in his time and has now turned his hooves to every form of equestrian sport you can imagine. He does show jumping, eventing, dressage (boring...) and even tried carriage driving and western once! He loves being treated like a real athlete and doesn’t like too many treats. But if you sneak him a carrot while no one else is looking he’s pretty happy.
Maisy - Maisonette is a prim and proper dressage girl. She came from Germany when she was very young but speaks both languages and loves everything to be structured and orderly. She jumps sometimes, but she’s much happier dancing with her rider. She's a typical mare-next-door, everyone loves her, she's sweet and friendly and other peoples mothers wish she was theirs... She loves kisses and carrots from her visitors, and getting groomed is her all-time favourite thing.

That looks very cool. Makes me wish I was still an equestrian.

I could never leave... it's got me hook line and sinker... for fourteen years no less!

I stopped in matric because of lack of time and a bad personality clash with an instructor. If it weren't for that I might still be riding. I still want to ride but I have little enough free time as it is and I couldn't afford it on my own. I have the feeling owning a horse will always be a pipedream for me. I really envy you.

Re: Yard Mascots
I rode for 7 years so I wouldn't say I was a pro but I'm not a total noob either. Most of the horses at the place were either rescued or ex-racers, so I know what TBs are like. I have to admit I have a bit of a soft spot for the crazy ones, I helped re-train two of those while I was there. But yeah, "my horse, my rules", as I painfully learned.
