The Name Game

Ha! Well... self explanatory...
My actual name is Tamaryn but because my nickname is Tammy I've been called Tamsin and every other form of Tamrin you can find.
I've also been called Thembi by a lady from Nandos.

So, you don't have to use your real name but have you ever accidently called someone the wrong name or met someone with a name so weird you just can't even...

Tokyo sexwale? sounds like a lipophilic hentai game from japan... but is actually south Africa's minister of human settlement... Owo i think... i mean god knows what could have happened in the last few years since i've been in the loop.

as for me, i've been called Amy quite a lot of times which isn't actually inaccurate but i really prefer people not to call me that... despite it having an eery similarity to an abbreviated form of my fursonas nickname.
and there was that time i cozplayed Amy rose at rage... <w< i guess i'm starting to see why people call me that so often...

This gentleman's name is particularly close to my heart, because I utter it every time I read the first question of a test paper I haven't studied for.

To give an actual, local example, though...

Sometime in the middle of 2016, I was tuning in to Ivic's weekly Pawdcast. Ivic mentioned something about Eylof hosting a camp. Unfortunately, I misheard that name.

For several days thereafter, I was under the impression there was an Adolf planning to create a camp. Needless to say, I was quite interested to see what sort of camp this Adolf was planning to create.

Animew a tamarind is a seed related to a date
A tamarin is a small monkey, very cute.
My Tamaryn is the name of a train which was the pride of Germiston back in the 70s.

Also Mike Litoris is my spirit animal...

A few americans I gamed with couldn't pronounce my sona name so they just called me Kevin instead. Even tho they could hear my voice which is very much female in quality.
Also been called Kaivoo, Keyehvoo, Kevy, Keywoo...etc

There have been various mishearings and versions of my real name but I hate that name so I'm not putting it on here.

My last name is Gaelic in origin, and way too phonetically close to "asshole" for primary school kids not to be extremely tempted to "mispronounce" it all the time.

Also my first name is very common so there was almost always someone else in my classes who also had it so we had to do the "Derpina A and Derpina B" which I absolutely despised.
