Ask Ivic!
Re: Ask Ivic!
I don't see the downside. Worst case scenario, free pregnancy test. It's a bit silly though, I mean someone who is shopping for cribs would probably already know they're pregnant, as well as be fairly close to term, which would be obvious. Sure it's potentially unfair for expectant parents who are adopting or using a surrogate, but on the other extreme, it's also possible to cheat. Also about redeeming it, the least you can do for the employee's sake is put the thing in a Ziploc.

Re: Ask Ivic!
wtf was my first response and then I read some of the responses...I actually don't know. On the one hand it feels like it could be degrading to some women, but then again, 'you peed on it, meaning the campaign works'. It's innovative but overall mostly just gross. And like one man in the ad said, "I just tried it but was escorted from the store". It opens up for super hard trolling.Rakuen Growlithe wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2018 10:43 pm How should people feel about these adverts?

If it works as a campaign it works. Consumerism at its finest. We'll see the results when we see em. XD

Re: Ask Ivic!
According to some experts it's either alarm or to 'impress the ladies'. Also, if a car ever sounded like that I'm not sure if I'd want to keep turning the key in the ignition...I'd probably want to just dump a few litres of oil aaaaall over my entire engine...because it does sound like two pieces of metal scraping against each other...or the screech of nails on a chalkboard at times.
On a side note I went as far as to find a clip just to remind me again of the sound and our dog walked in and did the 'confused headtilt'.
If it does sound like a starter engine I'd probably say instead of a car maybe something like a 125cc motorbike engine.
Though if you want my honest opinion, guinea fowl were created by god. Some say there was an addendum to the 10 Commandments as in;
The 10 Non-Human Annoyances (adapted to modern writing):
1. A guinea fowl will cry without provocation at all times of day
2. The Hadeda will wake you up at 6am on a Sunday Morning
3. Mosquitoes will bother you between the hours of 1am-6am just as you're drifting off to sleep.
4. Crickets/locusts will destroy the lawn you've tried so hard to maintain.
5. Your cat is trying to kill you. If you have not seen behaviour alluding to this, then your cat is playing the long con.
6. If you choose to have a part wolf-bred husky, do not be surprised to find parts of your couch missing if you leave them inside the house.
7. Raccoons, squirrels and vervet monkeys are all assholes that want everything you have. Yes even Trump's wig isn't safe.
8. Fish want nothing more than to slap you upside the face with their tails, especially when fishing.
9. Roaches
10. Bees and wasps will find a way into your house and pretend that the one open space you've left for them to get out doesn't exist.

Re: Ask Ivic!
In our lifetime or before we all just drop bombs everywhere and send our technical ability back some 700 years? I honestly don't know.
However, when we reach the outer limits of the Milky way, I suppose we'd find some amazing things. Maybe it's Interstellar, maybe it's Star Control. Or maybe we actually get found by intelligent life and they whisk us away...maybe we've already been there. I'm hoping we do find out in our life time.

Oddly, I heard about a game that was specifically made to help collect research for people with Alzheimer's and dementia: Sea Hero Quest
So you're possibly not wrong. This entire idea brings me close to tears knowing what both my grandparents went through.

Re: Ask Ivic!
I'm going to say we live in the 'circle of life' XD no transcendence, there's little to no point in life beyond what we can do while we are alive. I'd like to believe that there's new life after death but we'll probably only find that out in the womb or whatever and forget it. Live again later...I hope anyway. I want to think that we can live forward and take at least the initial ideas that we hold forward every time. XD but whatever. Pessimistically, no. Optimistically I want to believe that we live again. Otherwise 'heaven' or 'hell' would be full. No point in wasting life or re-experienceAsbjorn-phoenix wrote: ↑Sat Mar 31, 2018 12:13 pm Is life after death real or do we transcend to a parallel universe.

Re: Ask Ivic!
I think it's best to answer in song.
Drift Away
Dobie Gray
Day after day I'm more confused
Yet I look for the light through the pouring rain
You know that's a game that I hate to lose
And I'm feelin' the strain
Ain't it a shame
Oh, give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Oh, give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Beginning to think that I'm wastin' time
I don't understand the things I do
The world outside looks so unkind
And I'm countin' on you
To carry me through
Oh, give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Yeah, give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
And when my mind is free
You know a melody can move me
And when I'm feelin' blue
The guitar's comin' through to soothe me
Thanks for the joy that you've given me
I want you to know I believe in your song
And rhythm and rhyme and harmony
You've helped me along
Makin' me strong
Oh, give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Oh, give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Hey, give me the beat boys and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll and drift away
Na na na, won't you, won't you take me
Oh, take me

I mean if you're saying that because you think you're somewhat odd, in that Tim Allen after his Home Improvement days, kinda way....maybe?
