D&D campaign, anyone?

Come in, relax, play with your friends! You can find something for everybody here. You can even find threads with no particular point at all, other than a good time! You can even start up some role playing.

D&D campaign, anyone?

#1

Post by Valerion »

I am playing in one (soon to be two) D&D campaigns friends of mine are running on IRC. The one will be 9:00-11:00 Saturdays, and the other 21:00-23:00 Saturdays. Currently we are 3 players, and is looking for one more to make a nice group. If anyone is interested in playing and able to commit to playing regularly, please let me know and I will talk to the two DM's for you.

snow, gryph and i used 2 play regularly
actually...
i think gryph is inventing a game at the moment...as he is the ultimate dungeon master lol
although i must say...
we dont really play by the hard core rules so much
more fun that way :)

The offer is still open ;)

Speaking of which, I recently got my 4th ed rulebooks. And they are ... well ... different. What do you think of them, if you have seen them?

Well ... it's unlike anything D&D was before. A lot of sacred cows got sacrificed. If you want the closest analogy, look at the Star Wars Saga system.

It started to grow on me after reading the books a few times. I will still want to play it sometime to see what it is like. Got potential, though, methinks.

I'm not much for running games on irc.

However, i do have a certain level of experience and am willing to through out a campaign to anyone interested and such, if we can sort out all the particulars. Dnd 3.5 or 4th ed are preferred.

It would have to take place somewhere round Jozi though, due to traveling, but if anyone's interested...

I love my D&D and play regularly every weekend.... sadly online campaigns hardly ever work out!.... unless you have a firm meeting time and a program made for it!.... such as OpenRPG!
sadly i can't exactly do so through my current connection :<
otherwise i'd be happy to host a game as DM some time!... am fluent in 3.5 and DMed a bit for 4rth-ed.... but really don't like 4rth-ed that much though!

I always wanted to play D&D. I was into Warhammer 40K stopped playing cause last year i was busy with matric and this year i had no other players, i'm thinking of getting back into it and getting into D&D as well.
I've heard that even with the new 4th ed rules, the 3rd ed rules are easier for a beginner to pick up, is that true or should i go straight for 4th ed?

You know... I always wanted to get into tabletop gaming. D&D, The Whitewolf games, Shadowrun, etc, etc. It's always really interested me. Even had a Vampire: The Requiem game going over Ventrillo with a few friends but that sort of fell apart when the GM was sent to Afghanistan on military business. Thought I'd try to revive this thread in the hopes that someone has some games running that maybe I could sit in on and observe.
