Did this help?

Operating system wise, seriously, I install operating systems on a weekly basis. :/
I have to have installed Windows over 200 times by now. I'm not a PC technician!

I hate the commercial nature of all these products and I hate the way consumers are treated after purchasing said products. I hate the IT industry. I like putting a well thought out plan into action and I love pushing things to their limit, and that includes myself.

I play a few games, namely Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, Quake 3 Arena.... and... umm... Well, anything you run around with a gun and shoot anything that moves. Twitch shooters, I'm good at that. I tend not to spend too many hours on the computers (When I'm not at work, which usually involves lots of computer time).

Lol. You have 3 gaming machines? and here I sold all of my extra crap thinking its a total waste...

I do a lot more with computers than just game.

My new E8400 is actually my gaming machine. It's not 100% up and running, sitting on a bench and all. The other computer, my Q6600 is for number crunching. Rendering, etc... and my E4300 is for general usage.

Supreme Commander: FA needs more CPU power than is available. Let's not go into this, I'm tired of having to explain this to everyone.

Ahhhh, awesome.

No need to explain, I already know. I bought the game, but didnt really enjoy it, even though I had/have huge interest for Total Annihilation.

Thats good to hear. *sighs, thinking back to the good old days of those 10 hour games... Using Big Berthas as AA guns.*

I loved the add-ons and the unit mods. I remember a huge ship that I once had, was as long as a screen width @ 1024 x 768. :D

Dracius already knows my system since he sold it to me.

HP 530 series
intel celeron-m 520 1.6GHz
2048mb DDR2-667 , IntelĀ® 940GML chipset
Graphics Media Accelerator 950 ( 224mb UMA )
15.4" Lcd ( 1280x800 WXGA )
120gb SATA HDD
Windows Vista Basic/Kubuntu

I have total annihilation. I never really got into it and haven't played in ages but maybe I'll try again sometime. I got a copy of half life from a friend last Friday and I played that all weekend. Now I'm addicted. Need more half life stuff.

*nodnods* Yep. ^..^ Raki, you should come and raid my hoard, i'm pretty sure you'd find some decent stuff. I'd make short work of your 120GB ;)

Sweet machine, Valerion ^..^ How does that VGA card run for its price?

I havent put all on my PCs on this thread, only the one that i've put my heart and soul into. ^..^ I'm about 70% complete with a wicked case mod with some awesome draconic artwork, custom made! (still need to process the art..)

Yeah, sounds like you could. I've used most of it anyway. Got 30 or 40 gigs left. Most of it was because I just stuffed pretty much any music I could find on it. But there are always cds and dvds. I can store plenty on those.

Sweet. Then start racking up those DVDs. ^..^

The GPU is quite decent. Not nearly as fast as a 7600 or better would be, of course, but for its price I am not at all unhappy. Don't intend to change it any time soon (this year) at least.

Lol. I already have. Started collecting anime on cds so must have around 60-80 cds and then I moved onto dvds and have 10-20 dvds of stuff. Not all's anime. Some is music and other backups. Still got a couple of blank disks lying around.

BTW I forgot another system I have that I fixed up. It's in a cupboard now but I can remember some of it. hehe.
CPU: 386
HDD: 2X 800mb (Yay for a 386 with over a gig of memory!)
OS: DOS and Windows 3.11
That's about all I know for sure. Both hard drives have almost exactly the same stuff on. Takes over 5 minutes to start up though :( Partly because the batteries dead and I have to start twice to set up the disk drives and hard drives.

Yea Valerion, thought so ^..^ Its not really a bad card. Its all about the price point.

Sweet Raki! I'm sooo gonna raid your stuffs! XD And thats such an old PC!! BUT, I have a number of old popular Win3.11/DOS games, which you may take interest in ^..^ I also got 11GB of mame games too XD

Sweet, I see some of ya have an uncapped account :P

I'd love an uncapped account, but since nearly everything is available locally, I dont see much of a use for it. (Yes, -my- usage) XD I enjoy raping the 30GB "free" local BW on the 3GB TelkomSA accounts ^..^

Actually since last year, capping net over here is ILLEGAL...
So there's no cap in the whole country...

Cool. Feel free to take some stuff. I got a dos emulator to play the games. Some are really fun. What sucks is the best ones are still licensed. I saw not that long ago (like a year or two) Sierra was selling all the Space Quest games for around R300! That's a huge rip off. Especially since they probably won't play without Dos or an emulator. BTW do you have a working copy of syndicate? Mines not playing for some reason. I tried it a while ago. Think I lost some of the files.

Yea, I remember those classic collections. R300 was a crap load of money for those games, though combined I'm sure they could represent quite of game time.

Syndicate? Sorry, I dont have that anymore.. I only had the original and the original of Sydicate Wars. It was such a long time ago though.. I'm sure they are laying here somewhere >..>

The games are over 10 years old. They've made all the profit on the games already. They should be made free now.

That is not bad system, just the RAM could do with an extra gig or so and you should be able to run most games, you would be pushing it for Crysis though..!!

Hrm, I think I need to get Vista, I have 5gb of RAM and XP only recognises 3.5GB...hah. There goes my RAM to waste for the time being!!

Cheers, Red. :D
