Wow... i haven't set a paw in this place in a long time. Ha ha

Anyways as the title says I'm having some trouble adding RPG elements to a personal project of mine. saying "some trouble" might be a massive understatement, since i know nothing about coding combat systems or even where to start. ive been teaching myself simple python mostly by making Visual novels.

its a VN based game with text based combat relying in RPG stats and a D20 mechanic.
think corruption of champions or trials in tainted space, but with less porn and more visual art for the characters you meet and encounter.

I'm using the Ren'Py engine. its decently suitable for RPG elements but is more a VN based engine. i use it mostly because I'm familiar with it, and the VN is the most important part of the game for me. But I'm open to any suggestions of better engines for my purpose even paid ones are welcome. Any guides or information or manuals on this topic are more than welcome. i'm in no rush and not opposed to learning a new engine using a different language.

I was doing something similar (text based) in Python but with the porn. :p I was just making everything from scratch though because it was a learning exercise for me.

Haha well i am planning on adding some sexual content just not nearly as much as those games haha more along the lines of relationship based scenes instead of "rape every defeated enemy"
