Interesting there should be some action in this thread ...

I recently found a very nice 3D engine (prebuilt, and programmable in C#, and free - with restrictions)

It's called Unity ( http://unity3d.com/ ), it's really quite awesome

I want to start at least getting some basic ideas down and concepts, but with unity the code will be easier to write and stuff :3

yeah I'm kinda just exploring the site and seeing what's been said, butting my nose into everything and responding to threads that haven't been active in 2 years... I think I'll give this unity thing a try!
