Walpurgis Night Competition

As suggested by Kievvu, the new competition theme will be Walpurgis Night! While it has some meaning as a Christian holiday, it, like many other Christian holidays, originally existed in pagan religions. There it represented a time with the barrier between our world and the spirit world was at its weakest and witches would go out and cause mischief. To scare away evil spirits, people gather together and build big bonfires. How will you represent this day in your art or writing?

The competition is open for art, poetry and short stories. Written works should be fewer than 1000 words. All submissions must be PG-13.

Post your submission in this thread to enter. There is a maximum of 3 entries per person and a minimum of 3 people before voting can proceed. Entries will remain open until at least the end of 25 April. From 26 April to the end of 30 April (Walpurgis Night), voting will remain open for all registered forum members. After that, we will announce the new Contest winner!

Don't forget there's still just over a week to go. Though at the moment, it looks like this topic was a bit of a miss.

Well, it seems this was a bit of a bust so I'm cancelling this competition.

I'm gonna be honest with you, Rakuen. I have no idea what a Walpurgis even is... XD

It does sound interesting though... If I hadn't been as busy as I currently am... I might have written something...

Sorry there wasn't a bigger turnout for this, I would have loved to see what people came up with.
Unfortunately it is a bit more of an obscure holiday. I'm sorry that I didn't jump in myself, this would have been fun to make something for.

Dafuq is Walpurgis? My religious parents never went through this one with me when they were telling me which days are utterly Satanic. I feel cheated.
