Lweek's photography

#1

Post by Lweek »

Hi everybody! I would love to share my photography with you. Let start with this one that won me first place in Canon zoo photography competition. It's Sumatran Tiger walking on the corner of water hole in his enclosure. It's pretty old photo. Used gear Canon EOS 30D and borrowed EF 100-400/4.5-5.6L IS USM.

I'm doing photography for almost 10 years. Starting with EOS 400D + 18-55/3.5-5.6 II kit :) I've exchanged a lot of cameras since that. My actual gear is EOS 7D mk II, EF 100-400/4.5-5.6L IS USM II, EF 70-200/4L IS USM, EF 17-40/4L USM, Extenders 1.4x and 2x, Extender 12mm, Canon 430ex and several other stuff. I would love to exchange 70-200 for 2.8 mark II version before my travel to Africa. Other upgrades are in the stars. :)

Please I don't wanna make any rivals here. =)

This photo is even older. It was taken just six months after I began my journey into photography. And on the day I replaced 400D kit set for 30D kit set. Sometimes I'm surprised with results. But true is that I've spend a lot of time taking photos so if you take one exceptional photo it is pure probability.

Yeah, that's what makes this picture so special. It's not that common view. Light is natural but colors are little bit boosted. I like it this way. I like more colorful and vivid pictures. She was protecting her cubs that went outside shelter for very first time. That face just says "if you come closer you'll regret". What a mommy right?

This picture was taken with 400D and kit lens EF-S 18-55/3.5-5.6 II, technical quality of this set wasn't really good but with this long exposure nobody would notice. :) This is Sultan, a lion from local Zoo. He died by age last year. :-/
This picture is old too as you can see from file name YYYYMMDD-SERIALN

What about snow leopard cub? I think, if remember correctly it was 2 months old cubs. They were kept in private and not accessible for public but I have met photographer who work for that Zoo and he invited me to share this beautiful experience. ;)
I'm sorry for quality - it was my first date with 70-200/2.8L :)

And here we have a glimpse into Sev's childhood... as you can see he enjoyed sulking in his box most of the day. What people didn't know is it was his way of plotting global domination... one motor bike at a time...
