Surgery Show and Tell

#1

Post by Sev »

Well, since this whole adventure has taken over 40k out of our medical savings, I thought that I might as well make the best of it, and post pictures over here.

Also, moral of the story: do not go riding after not having slept for two days. Especially, if you take a short nap immediately before.

Firstly, this is what my shoulder looked like after the accident; note the angulation of the clavicle.

Ew
It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, especially if you live near him.

Always be yourself..... Unless you can be a Dragon, then always be a Dragon

Every time I look at my shoulder in the first x-ray, I actually get a chill down my spin.

My friend who got into a bike accident 2 years back managed to sandpaper his foot with the road

And that is why I spared no expense when it came to buying protective gear. If I go off, I want the best possible chance of making it out in one piece.

Since I am now in a relationship with another guy, that's not really a very compelling argument at all. :P

I should find a light box so I can post some pics of my MRI scans, really impressive to see someones head missing a quarter of a brain and still functioning reasonably normally.
If you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to fear,
if you've something to hide you shouldn't be here.

Well, since this thread is rather generically named "Surgery Show and Tell", I don't see why it can't become a repository for pictures and tales of various medical procedures. If you can find said pictures, by all means, please upload them here.

I'm lucky enough to never have had surgery in my life so I'm afraid I can't contribute here.

Up until this point, I had never broken anything before. This was my first surgery, and I was extremely nervous beforehand.

I'm just glad you're still alive. There's far too many deaths on the road these days.
