This was actually a tech demo, but I think it makes for a really interesting short film in its own right.

I am so happy Neill Blomkamp is doing this.

Since I graduated from college, I can finally show off my 3rd year graduation film! Super proud of how it came out =3
Took about 10 months to make from scratch.

Edit: can someone please tell me how to link it properly? I suck at this :?

It wants the video ID. In other words, everything that comes after the "=".

That was a really good film, by the way. Did you make it all by yourself, or were you part of a team? :)

My favourite part was right after they opened the door. I was like, "Wait a minute, is that actually a closet?" and then it all clicked into place.
Very well done.

Thanks Contrast =D I'm glad you liked it! I'll fix the link shortly as well.

Haha no, we were a team of 7. I did the technical aspects of the characters (animation rigs) as well as the editing, and a bit of animation.
I prefer the rigging aspect the most though.

Edit: hmmm seems I can't edit my previous post anymore. =/

I enjoyed it too. Especially... the fact that every last detail has symbolism

That was really impressive. ^.^
You all did a great job on it. I love the ending, too.

I think this little short film will split people into two groups. Those who claim this doesn't make any sense at all, and those who toss logic right out the window and can't help but go "D'aaww!" at the sweetness of it all. I'm firmly in the latter group. So many feels!

*Wipes away a manly tear of manliness.* :'3

This one isn't deep or anything, but I thought it was cute. :3

It was a great take on a Brothers Grimm tale. All kinds of messed up though.

I think this should qualify as a short film.

I really liked this one. :)

A lot of the old videos don't work anymore, though (which is weird, since the code still seems to be [ youtube ] videoID [/ youtube ]), but I think I'll just gradually resubmit them over the coming days. It just seems like such a shame to leave them broken.

Please don't do that. They will be fixed over time. As far as I can tell, installing the new bbcode toolbar, messed up the original bbcode that had been put in place. The forum does have a way where it goes back reparses bbcode in old posts which will make all the old posts display correctly again (except for spoilers which will need some extra work) but that only does ~100 posts per hour by default (as far as I understand). Given that we have >113000 posts, it would take 48 days to repair everything. That can be sped up but when I first looked at the instructions, they were quite confusing, so I still need to sit down and really reread them before I make any changes.

That was one of the strangest things I've ever seen but the amount of work put into it and the emotion it conveys is amazing.

I did see that hair thing come up in my recommendations but I haven't watched it. Instead I watched this short about a little kitty cat who gets lost.

Have a seasonally appropriate Fleisher cartoon from the 40s that you probably didn't know about. A lot less weird than that 60s Rankin/Bass stop-motion version that the Americans are obsessed with.
