WHAAT?
Independence day is getting a sequel??
There are movies that deserve a sequel way more!

Ahh well... Looks like it'll be better than the first at least...

independence day will receive a new sequel every 5 years until it ends up being the same as Jaws hehe. old and overdone eventually just because of because.

I beg to differ. I think the original was brilliant and Hollywood is just going to overplay this one and fill it with crap that doesn't belong there.

At least the original kept to the fact that "we haven't managed to use space tech yet even though we've had it for years." it's set twenty years after the original film, which was set in 1996, which is twenty years ago.

I know I sound like a dick, but I genuinely think this film is going to be a Hollywood show off extravaganza which is fine for people who like flash and bang, but I miss the days of films actually having meaning and the craftsmanship to make them took longer than six months (the current average filming time for a full length film).

(Long quote, MOtS)
Haha! Well... People will disagree about things! I personally didn't think much about independence day... Tiny aliens, running around is bigger meat-suits was stupid. That's my opinion about it.
And I like high-tech. Walk around in my room, and that'd soon be clear.(Just be sure to wear some shoes, I don't want to pull the IC's out of your feet)

Other people will like different things, maybe because that's what they knew as kids, I don't know...

It's your opinion? Why would you sound like a dick?

Aliens didn't wear bigger meat suits in Independence Day, their bodies were comprised of armour..

Now for meat suit wearing aliens, we have Mars Attacks.

Now that movie was hilarious.

I always feel I sound like a dick when I talk about films. Because it's a passion that's driving my career change and life change etc. so I tend to get very opinionated about it.

Which too me sounds like a dick.

Wait wat? I know its been a while since I watched independence day... But I'm pretty sure that there was little Aliens inside a meatsuite type thing... After the one pilot brought down one of their ships....

Do I have the wrong movie here?

No one can forget that scene. Watched it in the cinema and all I saw was popcorn flying.

You have the right movie but it isn't a "little alien". He's a full bodied large alien, the piece Will Smith so triumphantly pounds is the softer inner body, which was encased by the harder outer protective carapace.

they is big man. they is scary big...

And the mind controlling thing... still gives me teh shivers...

though I do love it when the muppets teased that!!!!

I really liked Independence Day. The only part I thought to be rather silly was the computer virus. First of all, I'm pretty sure a man-made virus would never work on alien computers. And even if it did, wouldn't the aliens have anti-virus software?
