I just watched "Grave of the Fireflies" and it pretty much wrecked me.
It's about two kids trying to survive in the Japanese countryside during WWII.

I just finished watching Rent! It's an excellent musical, I decided to watch it because I've been listening to the soundtrack for a decade now and context was desired.

I just finished watching "Made in Abyss" and oh my God...
Don't let the cute art style fool you. When this thing hits, it hits hard.

Image
Summary wrote:The Abyss—a gaping chasm stretching down into the depths of the earth, filled with mysterious creatures and relics from a time long past. How did it come to be? What lies at the bottom? Countless brave individuals, known as Divers, have sought to solve these mysteries of the Abyss, fearlessly descending into its darkest realms. The best and bravest of the Divers, the White Whistles, are hailed as legends by those who remain on the surface.

I just finished Re:Creators.

Image

Basically, it's about fictional characters crossing over into the real world and all the havoc that causes. As a writer myself, I had great fun watching this and imagining what would happen if I ever got a chance to meet the characters from my own novel. I'm thinking they'd probably hate my guts (more than one of them would just straight up murder me, lol).

Just finished Net-juu no Susume. It's an adorable feelgood rom-com, kinda like "You've Got Mail", but with MMORPG's. :3

Inuyashiki.

Image

An old man. A high school sociopath. Disturbing imagery and tons of violence. That's pretty much what Inuyashiki is all about.
Oh, and did I mention it has robots? Because it totally has robots. And a dog! :3

I just finished Gakkou Gurashi, and wow...
I don't want to say too much about it, but I will say this.

1. It's good.
2. There's more to this cutesy-looking moe-style anime than meets the eye. Much, much more.

Tried out One Piece and quickly discovered the anime just isn't for me. So, I moved on to Hotarubi no Mori e, and I'm loving it!

I tried it, too, and I just couldn't get into it. The art is so ugly (those muppet mouths, ugh), and the story lines are just absurd (and not in a good way). I managed to tough it out until the clown pirate showed up, and then I dropped it. Apparently it gets super good after like, 300 episodes, but I seriously didn't want to invest that much time in a series I disliked right from the get-go just on the off-chance that it might get good after 120 hours.

Right now I'm watching Hajime no Ippo. It's your typical sports shounen anime and it does get repetitive after a while, but the characters are all very likable and I'm learning an unexpected amount of factual stuff about boxing, like how a properly executed Dempsey Roll sounds just like a jet engine. :P

Owo not sure if this is just my dirty mind or that the original pokemon is kinda lewder than the TV version but...
gropingfenikin.png
this bitch totes gave fennikin's crotch a squeeze.

and yea, for those of you who don't know... fennikin's original name is fokko... which is kinda like calling a fox yiffles... but in afrikaans.
UwU/ trust me, a little fox going "fok fok fok! fokkofok!" all the time is definitely worth watching it in Japanese if you ask me.

Wow... for the first two thirds of this page I thought everyone here only watched horrors, then i got to animew's post. :D Thanks for the lolz.
I keep up to date with most series and movies, but rewatching x-files from season 1 atm. o.O so fashions, much bad acting.

I used to have the biggest crush on Scully when I was a kid, but for the life of me I can't remember why. O_O
Ricky Lake, too. >_>

Right now I'm watching Mirai Nikki. I'm about halfway through, but I think I'm going to drop it. There are so many plot holes it has become more annoying than entertaining, and none of the characters are likable in any way. The MC in particular is the biggest pussy who ever pussied, and that's saying a lot.

I recently finished Houseki No Kuni.
Summary wrote: In the distant future, a new immortal and genderless life form called Gems populate the Earth. The 28 Gems must fight against the Moon Dwellers, who attack them regularly to abduct them and to turn them into decorations. Each Gem is assigned a role, such as a fighter or a medic.

Being only 300 years old, Phosphophyllite is the youngest of the Gems and has no assignment yet. He wants to help to fight the Moon Dwellers, but is too weak and brittle for battle. One day the master of Gems, Kongou (Adamantine), assigns him the task of creating a natural history encyclopedia.

I almost didn't watch this because I thought the summary sounded kinda stupid, but I'm so glad I did. Absolutely beautiful.
