Countdown to the End (of Evangelion)

Post by Hargan »

So, with the dvd release of Rebuild 3.33 soon upon us: You can(not) redo and the last movie being worked on; what are everyone's thoughts on either the shows and/ or the rebuilds?

Are the rebuilds better? Is the original show better? And why hasn't the world ended yet? :P

I wanna hear comments, predictions and insane theories. Let's go! :P

I thought the show made no sense.
But I did finish it for some reason.
The ending was the most disappointing to me.

I can’t remember much more than that though.
Perhaps I will give it another shot.
I hope the main character is less annoying and stupid this time around. (the king of drama queens)

The robots and situations were cool though.

You know, that was my reaction to End of Evangelion. I won't get into the psychological and philosophical requirements, nor understanding of the series, to get into 25 and 26th episodes, but I will say this about the rebuilds:

All that crazy mind screwing? They use all the surprises in the show as facts for the movies, meaning they aren't surprises.

Does this help? Only minorly. They... they... it's so beautiful. They managed to make it work so amazingly well.

So yes, it's going to be confusing as heck (especially if you dun have a working definition on things like AT fields) but visually, musically, and the way everything is portrayed? It's a lot more the masterpiece the show should have been.

You'd at least enjoy the first movie. Watch until after the credits though :P
