Philips P3000
So, me and Dasc are in Tzaneen. My grandma told us about an old computer she used in the late 1970's. Seemed awesome, so we went looking for it. It was in the garages roof. And after some scratching of dust, I found a name: "P3000", made by Philips. A Google search turned up nothing. In fact, a guy on old-computers.com even said there was only a P3003, P3004 and P3005. None of these are the one in my grans garage. So, does anyone know anything about this piece? We'll ask on their forum later, but they're giving errors on sending us an email for account creation. So, problems...
We found a computer that doesn't exist on the internet

Wow, that's an awesome find.
It would be incredible if you could get it to boot.
You win.

Re: Philips P3000
The reason you can't find the Phillips P3000 on the internet is because it has been erased from your timeline! You must go back in time and use the Phillips P3000 to prevent an evil organisation from triggering the end of the world as we know it! Godspeed!

The P3000 is the only device that can stop Skyne... I mean Google from taking over the world.

Re: Philips P3000
This one doesn't look like any I can see online. None have the logo or the three buttons. And it has other differences. And my gran is pretty sure she used it before 1980...
It is really a nice find. And my grandma is giving it to me. So yeah...
Anyone have an estimate cost? Not that I'm planning on selling it. Way too cool. And it should still work. Getting it off the roof is just a bitch... it's so heavy. Maybe we can try and set it up up there

I bet that one button in the middle will send that sexy beast into turbo mode.
Now your just going to need some floppy drives and a working knowledge of dos and I bet we could get that bad boy to bend over and show us some pong.

Re: Philips P3000
Found it! http://www.old-computers.com/museum/com ... t=1&c=1300
Seems it's not a Philips at all. It was in fact made by pertec, in 1978, and is called the PCC 2000. This makes the label at the front all the more interesting... Perhaps Philips imported it to S-A. I really don't know. But it is the same computer. Same buttons, same non-detachable keyboard, same everything. The label on the back even says PCC.
We can only guess what this means. Why there's a Philips logo and P3000 on it. And why it looks remarkably like the philips P3003...

Re: Philips P3000
You really should try to get an expert estimate on its value. Retro PC's can be very valuable, and you might have a real collector's item there.

Re: Philips P3000
I really want to. Not that I'll sell it. Ever. It's too cool! But knowing the potential value really would be nice...
To think, my parents and grandparents have been wanting to throw it out. To them it's a piece of rubish
