Just wanting to gauge who here attempts to do overclocking to their PC's, ranging from CPU's to mice (yep, they can be overclocked too )
Currently:
AMD 5600+ @ 3.41Ghz, 244FSB x 14, 1.5V (Memory at standard speeds) - from 2.8Ghz
Chaintech 8800GT @ 650 core, 1550 shader and 1900mhz memory - from 600/1500/1800.
Both are using water cooling, but I still have slight stability issues when pushing further.. and its definitely not cooling related >..>
Lets hear all of your overclocking experiences!

Re: Overclocking
I don't know how to do it or what it does. And as far as I know laptops aren't good to change because there's not much you can actually do to them. But out of curiosity what could you possibly do to your mouse?

Re: Overclocking
Only overclocked my junk...
Intel Celeron D310 2.13Ghz -> 2.67GHz
(from FSB 133 to 166)
Fully stable, no overheating problems, no extra cooling needed.
Not sitting on the overclocked CPU now... Don't want to risk.
And i know the mouse can be overclocked for better DPI and faster connection with the PC.
I have a PS/2 mouse so i can do nothing, but i know it's possible.

Re: Overclocking
Basically, its running the product at a faster speed than what its rated. This not only voids the warrnaty, but it also increases in power usage, which increases the amount of heat output (Thats laymans terms). You do get notebooks that are designed for overclocking, but lower range notebooks usually dont sport any overclocking features.Rakuen Growlithe wrote:I don't know how to do it or what it does. As szczurex said, a faster connection can be created, from your mouse to PC, by increasing the updating frequency (poll/hz speed). You can google the rest
Nice overclock Lets see ya slap a Core2 in thereszczurex wrote:Intel Celeron D310 2.13Ghz -> 2.67GHz

Re: Overclocking
Won't happen in a long while, as i'd have to buy a whole new PC for that (parts too old) - and that won't happen in a long while. That costs a bitDracius wrote:Nice overclock Lets see ya slap a Core2 in thereszczurex wrote:Intel Celeron D310 2.13Ghz -> 2.67GHz

Re: Overclocking
Why is this sections so dead >_>
Might as well try CPR,
Overclocked one of my 5870's to 1080mhz/1400mhz (core/mem) from 850/1200 stock
And my Phenom II 965 (3.4Ghz stock) to 4.3Ghz @ 1.5v
I didn't want to go further due to temperature problems
Then realised that my motherboard is dying on me so I set back to 3.8Ghz @ 1.375v just to put the CPU power phases under less stress

Re: Overclocking
if you want overclocking on z77 or z87 boards pm me i can get it up to 4.6 depending on your cooling and cpu

Someone disturbed my deep-slumber in the hardware section for this?!Dire wolf wrote:if you want overclocking on z77 or z87 boards pm me i can get it up to 4.6 depending on your cooling and cpu
Pathetic furries and your nonsensical, variable-filled comments.
