Foreal 3D printer

Post by Kurrichane »

My dads recently bought a 3D printer and we are printing some awesome goodies, you know those skrews, bolts and gears that either you cant get or will cost you a fortune to buy? Perhaps old fasion whistles or toy planes that you cant find in the shops anymore? Maybe you have a CAD project for school or something? We can print them all:D

Nice :) , it looks like it has pretty good resolution, but cant really tell from the picture...

As for what to print, why not print another 3d printer, you should be able to print the majority of the parts needed to build a RepRap :P, and sell them, so we can do our own 3d printing...

RepRap machines do just that, I think they got it to something like 70% of the printer is printable, this excludes things like the steel struts and electronics of course,so you can print the majority of the machine, buy what you cant print and build another 3d printer for cheap.

You can read more on the link I posted :P

So lucky! So many things that could be printed... I hear there's an idea to send a 3D printer to the moon and actually print the buildings out of moon dust.

I believe they are also planning on doing that for the 2040 Mars settlement,
Only, to print things like rover parts, computers (yes they have made one that prints in metal, there's one at my school), and many other items for use.

Well here is something rather interesting. Heriot Watt University has developed a way to print human cells which will hopefully do away with animal drug testing :D!!! Good news for our furry friends ^_^ Seems they have already been able to print stem cells :D
Can't wait to see what happens 10 years from now.
