GOG Connect

HOW DOES GOG CONNECT WORK?

To connect your library with GOG.com, sign in to your active Steam account via this page. NOTE: Make sure your Steam Privacy Settings & Profile Status are set to public.

You'll be able to permanently import all the games listed below to your GOG.com library – assuming you own them. The eligible games are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned for more games to come.

You can connect only one Steam account with your GOG.com library. This process is permanent – choose wisely!

Don't quite know how useful this would be. It exists now, anyway.

I see only two reasons for this:

If you really don't like steam/don't trust steam/think steam will stop existing, or piracy...

Really, why else would you like drm free versions of games you own on Steam?

Running Steam offline is one reason. If you have older games that are not as hardware intensive you can play them on a laptop while travelling.

Well, a DRM-free version of a game is strictly better than a DRM-encumbered version of a game, so yay!

As much as I like Steam, becoming entirely dependent on a business or closed platform is never good, so this is nice =3

Well, that was pretty useless.

Of my 300+ games, it added 5...

Used to be an issue, but apparently Steam made some changes in the past few years to make it better. Used to be that if you didn't connect to the net regularly Steam stopped allowing you to play anything in your library on that PC.

That sounds pretty cool. Would be nice to make it go the other way too.

I don't think that Steam would allow that. Still, that would be nice.
