Gaming Nick Help

#1

Post by Ryall »

Alright so as far as gaming is concerned, I have many accounts across many platforms and they are currently split between two names, but I would like one name going forward and so I ask for your help, fellow furs, in deciding which name is cooler.

On Steam and League of Legends I use the name, Truth Hurts, but on battle.net and Origin I use the name Crymaw.

Whichever one you help me choose, I will use for platforms and accounts going forward, so it will make my life a lot easier.

Keep in mind I will use this name for RTS and FPS games, as well as account names on gaming forums and such so it's not like an RPG character's name where it need be specific to one genre.

Thanks guys I appreciate it! I have far too much indecision when it comes to customization and personalization. I'm the guy that spends like an hour in the Skyrim character creation menu. :)

<Previously by the way, when I started gaming, I used Desolater (the successor to my very first nick ever, 'SALTY') for FPS games and Science Project for RTSs>

Just some background on the names by the way,

Truth Hurts is obviously a reference to the saying, "the truth hurts." There are lot of difficult truths everyone has to swallow at some stage of their lives, and gaming is no different. Too often people rage and blame luck or their teams for doing badly, when really, they are the ones at fault.

Crymaw is a portmanteau both for 'cry maw' and 'cry more.' The latter is obvious: somebody rages at you for having killed them or used cheap tactics in a game, and the response is, "cry more, (noob)." The other is a little more obscure, as maw is the mouth of a beast, particularly a predator, such as a wolf. It's a reference to the saying, "cry wolf." I often like to be stealthy and use scare tactics in games (no prizes for guessing which my favorite TF2 class is).

Crymaw is more original, and it sounds like it could be the name of a badass hyena. :P

Thank for the feedback jacojerb and Dasc, much appreciated. :)

@ jaco, Ryall is my fursona name: there's an identity, and a personality attached to it, that doesn't match up with the character I convey in gaming. I use Ryall for RPG characters though. ;)

Ugh, it is worrying that "both suck" and Crymaw are neck in neck though. 50% approval rating is not high. :P

Well, you could always be take after me and use RyallHunter.

Wait a second. Lemme change my origin name quickly. :P

Also, I think that I am worthy of being imitated. 8-)

After all, we are sitting at the top of 1 Div along with Prod, and have been the only clan to beat ALG so far.

We face important decisions such as these everyday

-Beard or baby face
-Wizard or Warrior
-Dragon or Inconsequential

I like Crymaw :P and hate having to choose new names so doubt you'd like to either ;D

I would've suggested Ryall as well. If you tried to add me on Steam or something with a different name I wouldn't accept it. I did because you'd sent the PM so I was expecting it and I do check whether the person and I share any groups or friends (or if they were in a recent Dota game). But still...

So true Obsidian!
First one is easy for me: always baby face. I grow a horrible beard, so it's either that or peach face.
Wizard vs Warrior... ugh... that one gets me all the time, really it does. :(
Always be a dragon. While my fursona is a hyena, if I could be an anthro in real life I would want to fly and breathe fire. :P

No vikings here then

Looks like Pretoria on ALG's page, unless they are owned by and Australian

From what I've seen across the DoGaming leagues generally one or two teams normally wreck everyone else and sit at the top without competition

No, they are not - I used to play for them back in BF3.

That's true; there's often a huge disparity in skill between teams at the top and the bottom of each division. This is especially true in open Div, and less true in Prem. Honestly, with the bottom two teams in our group, I have absolutely no clue how they even got into 1st Div.
