I am almost finished with Dishonoured! Hehe!
Took me long enough...

At first seeing the graphics of the characters in game really spoiled it for me... Compared to the trailer...
But I just look away when I see their horribly rendered faces now...
Spoiler
I took down the High Overseer with the voice clip without shedding any blood! Hahaha!

Dishonored is awesome! Think I played through 5 times in total and have almost every achievement from the main game. The only thing is, it's quite easy. Now I'm trying to do no-kill, no-detection run through Dishonored 2 on hardest difficulty level. Thing is... Dishonored 2 is waay harder than Dishonored.

Also, Dishonored's ending song is amazing!

Night in the Woods is out.
I have been waiting for this game for years now. It's an indie game in which you play as Mae, a college dropout returning to her small hometown, Possum Springs.
The art is gorgeous and all of the characters are anthros. But beyond that... there's just something about the game that has resonated with me since I first heard of it. The wonderful writing, the premise, the visuals...
I can't quite say why, but it has easily been my most anticipated game of the last few years, and perhaps even of all time.
If you're curious, the developers have actually released a couple of free supplemental games in the past. Lost Constellation in particular is a small, beautiful game in its own right.
So... that's what I'm playing. It's good to finally get to experience Possum Springs.
It feels a bit like coming home.

Me and Dasc started playing Starbound last night. Without any planning, we both ended up making very similar characters: both blue avians :D

Had lots of fun last night. Such a good game, so far

Oh? It used to not like AMD but I thought they fixed that. I actually stopped playing because I got bored. It doesn't have the same fun factor as JC2 had. Also it was annoying me that your actions in the sandbox had basically zero effect on the world. I could liberate towns and even key military bases but as soon as they were needed for a story mission, it acted as though nothing had happened.

My graphics card, which meets the specs, crashes... and I cant change the controls so I have to have a controller... it's weird... I dunno... I never got to play the other ones and my bosses son and I played on his xbox and it was quite fun (I suppose like so many things if the worst one is the only one you've experienced you don't know what you're lacking :P)

I could change the controls but they did sometimes revert... that was frustrating. But if you having some fun with it, definitely try JC2.

Night In The Woods.
I'm about 6 hours in right now, been really enjoying it.
Don't really know how to explain the game without accidentally spoiling it though.
Its a story based game, but not a visual novel.

If anyone is curious about Night in the Woods, I highly recommend checking out the two free supplemental games the developers made prior to the release of the game itself:
https://finji.itch.io/longest-night
https://finji.itch.io/lost-constellation
Night in the Woods is amazing, by the way.

Also playing it.
It’s a very story focused side scroller. (I heard it compared to “life is strange”)
Very bleak story line though. Hits a little too close to home with some of the arcs you can follow.

I would use that term if a set of people didn't immediately have brain aneurisms from the anger that something like that exists, but no,
So far I've only ever seen first-person games described like that, so, to me at least, 'walking sim' implies fps-roam.
Side scroller as said by Splicer was the word I was looking for but forgot at the time

ARK: Survival Evolved, for PC! :D

This is courtesy of Leeward, from whom I received it as a gift. Thank you again, Lee! Thus far, I am thoroughly enjoying it (though I have only been playing for little over an hour) It is a fun survival RPG game wherein you play as a human survivor on a series of islands inhabited by prehistoric creatures, including DINOSAURS! :D It is intended primarily for multiplayer play, but supports singleplayer, too (though you should have lots of processing power if you want it, as world generation burdens your CPU heavily).

Playing allot of Total War: Warhammer.
If anybody wants to play the grand campaign co-op let me know. (Co-op is a great way to learn how to play the game)
Don’t worry, I am not good with this game at all.

I have decided to revisit the classic masterpiece, The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind! :D A relic from my childhood, wherein I would spend hours exploring the immersive world of Vvardenfell, killing those goddamn annoying cliff-racers who would materialize into existence at random intervals of between 1 and 2 seconds. In my opinion, Morrowind has the best soundtrack of the entire game series.
And, of course... Argonians all the way! :D Suck it, Khajiits! The Argonians in Skyrim look the best. The ones in Morrowind look like adorable walking geckos (which are still really to fun play as). The ones in Oblivion... Well... Let's just say they were better-looking than most of the other races, but Oblivion's characters had distinct likenesses to potatoes.

For example, {HERE} is a side-by-side comparison of a female Argonian from the different TES games. Morrowind's (bottom left of the four) looks adorable, Skyrim's (the larger one) looks amazing, but Oblivion's (bottom right of the four)... ... yeah.

I wish I had played TES:III & IV when they were 'new'. I just cannot enjoy them having played newer games, I have no nostalgia to drag me through the mechanics that have been improved, and as much as graphics 'don't matter', they do for me to a degree. (Not a 'retro gamer')
I can still 'respect' them for how they influenced and improved the genres as a whole though.

Right now I'm playing Flinthook,
Quite a fun and challenging rogue-lite, where the perma-progression is upgrades to your xp, hp, unlocking sub weapon drops, and unlocking 'cards' that you take with you on every run.
The cards add things like more hp/xp/gold, more weapon damage, faster running, slower falling, more enemies that drop more gold, etc. you unlock cards every time you level up, and you seem to level up quite generously (I'm lvl 30 something).
The levels are procedurally generated out of pre-built rooms (à la Rogue Legacy ) with modifiers on. You chose one of 3 'ships' to attack, each one being slightly different somehow (Poison over time effect, a library (how you get lore), a relic shop (collectibles), Higher chance of treasure, infestation (every room has insect enemies), etc.
You collect 1 McGuffin for every ship you complete, with the first boss requiring 3 to fight, the second 4, if you die you start over. So far it seems every Boss Run's ships have their own theme to differentiate.

In my 11 hours of playing it so far I've only defeated the first boss (twice, you can rerun them.), and I've only encoutered 2 "bullshit rooms" where I went in with full hp and died to environmental hazards I could not get the 'rhythm' of to pass them, and I've also only seen each room once.

I can recommend it though, I think especially if you enjoyed Rogue Legacy.
Seize the day, not your bearings.
