Impossible Quiz

Yesterday, I wound up watching Freddie Mercury destroy Kanye West. That's always fun.

Which brought me back to what I think is a pretty difficult question. Who is the greatest vocalist? Is it Freddie Mercury or Michael Jackson?

Of course we can always we can always just enjoy the two of them at the same time.

I assume your idea of good music would be Steve Hofmeyer playing tuba and Die Antwoord 'rapping' as a collaboration then XD

I love a big verity of music.
Only Afrikaans music I listen to is
FPK. Die Heuwels Fantasties. And a few others.

Steve Hofmeyr can die in a ditch.
Die Antwoord is horrendous.
Id rather listen to both than being forced to listen to the Bohemian Rhapsody.

I like Of Monsters and Men.
Coldplay
3 Doors Down
Beartooth

Some of my favourite is
Blue October.
Bring Me The Horizon
Linkin Park
Mumfords and Sons

And I always thought you were a nice, reasonable person.

That was partially in my mind when making this. Never finished it though. At a certain point it takes so much effort to get to where you failed that it stops being fun.

What is it with you guys' obsession with Freddie Mercury?

And how come, me not liking him makes me a bad person?

If you think this is an outright attack on your moral center and your code of ethics in respect to your dislike of Queen, it really isn't. However, as a kid, were you forced to listen to Bohemian Rhapsody and would that be the reason why you hate Queen? I mean...I understand dislike. But hate? XD

(Sidenote, we're giving you guff, pulling your tail. Riding the train to Georgia, funking the chicken, listening to Britney Spears and Ke$ha when everyone thought they were cool, howling at the inkling of a woof, berating the barista at Mugg and Bean, snorting a line of cocaine, hunting in a pack, blowing out the candles before it's appropriate to, denying the - you get the point.)

I hate queen(the band). I don't hate Mr. [Hg].
His voice; He may have a nice wide vocal range. But there's nothing I particularly like about it... Honestly it makes me feel uncomfortable.
His lyrics; Bohemian Rhapsody, just playn creeps me out. The lyrics. The feel of the song.
It's about hardships of a guy who wasted his life.
Then killed a man..?
I can't even make it out, honestly. Sounds like a whole lot of random words thrown at a page...
Like a really REALLY bad acid trip.

I like music I can relate to. Not music about(What I perceive as) word vommit.

I listen to BMTH. Becuase I relate to the lyrics.
BMTH-Hospital for souls wrote: And then I found out how hard it is to really change
Even hell can get comfy once you've settled in
I just wanted the numb inside me to leave
No matter how fucked you get
The sun will return and you come back down!
The funny thing is all I ever wanted I already had
There's glimpses of heaven in every day
In the friends that I have, the music I made
The love that I feel, I just had to start again
Even though that is dark. It's relatable.

I like Polisikar, because it relates to how I feel about our country:
FPK-Brand Suid-Afrika wrote: Vir jou is daar nog messe wat wag,
In die bosse buite jou huis in die nag,
Ons sal mos veilig wees, ons sal mos veilig wees,
Ons hou ons gewetens skoon en sluit toe die deur
I like Blue October, because I feel the struggles the singer is going through.
Blue October-Hate Me wrote: I'm sober now for three whole months,
It's one accomplishment that you helped me with
The one thing that always tore us apart
Is the one thing I won't touch again
In a sick way I want to thank you
For holding my head up late at night
While I was busy waging wars on myself,
You were trying to stop the fight
But queen?
I feel nothing when I listen to the music. I feel nothing when I see the lyrics.

Same with 90% of popular music. It's written for popularity and fame. Not for the reason music existed.
To share emotions. To make people feel what you are feeling.

Maybe? Maybe I don't have the right set of emotions to feel whatever Queen is projecting? I don't know...

Maybe I'm missing out on something more intimate you guys share with Queen?
Is he a role model perhaps?

I know... I'm getting a discussion going... I though about splitting the topic...
I am not taking offense.I am not being defensive.

Excuse me? It tells the story of a young man who (accidentally?) killed someone, his emotional turmoil during the trial, time in prison, until he finally accepts his fate.

Adagio, is Bohemian Rhapsody the only song you've listened to? What other songs were there that you may have listened to?

Yeah? Hate is such a strong word though @_@ I reserve hate for like...Bieber and even then, hate is still strong. XD I can't outrightly hate a musician...unless they're something like crunkhop or whatever.

Given a choice between Queen and Bieber. Id go Bieber.

Maybe hate is a strong word.
But hearing his music, makes me feel uncomfortable. I cant explain it.

I respect your opinion I hope we could try and have a 'listen off' at some point to discuss particular attributes of the songs and see what it is. I'm now just genuinely curious XD
