What Is Music To You ?

For me music is one of the last truely magical things left in this world. There are others things but Im talking about music for now.

It can take you to heaven or doom you to hell .
It can invoke any emotion .
It can make you remember or help you forget.
It can seduce you.
And some times the right type of music can even help heal a damaged pease of your sole.

I myself havent found the right pease of music to heal the damaged peases of my sole yet,& Im still looking. I dont conform to any particular music garner. I like listening to a broad spectrum of music.

Music to me, put simply is life It's one of the only things I'm actually good at, i.e. Playing it, writing it, etc. I believe strongly that music is the single greatest invention of humankind. Also, considering it's part of what set homo sapiens apart from homo erectus, habilus, etc over 250000 years ago, I'd say it's pretty important.

I think if a person confines themself to any one genre of music, or even a couple of genres, they're missing out. It takes more than just Rap or Rock or Classical to get the full experience. If you wanna see a vivid spectrum of amazing sounds, branch out from your norm a little. Give something you wouldn't normally listen to a try. Or don't, it's up to you

You seem to have missed the point. I didn't say "Go listen to music, even if you don't like it." I said, give something new a try. If you don't like it after that, I'd imagine pressing delete shouldn't be all that hard. I'm a rock enthusiast first and foremost, but I'll still give random rap music a try. If I don't like it, I don't listen to it again. Furthermore, it's really not hard to find new music that you've never heard of. Try torrentz.com and look under music. Simple.

I listen to music when I just mess around, but if I must concentrate on something (like my writing) I must work in absolute silence. I know Stephen King works to hard rock, but I tried that once and I just couldn't do both at the same time. My attention was either 100% on the music or 100% on my work. Constantly switching back and forth between the two didn't work for me.
That said, I do enjoy good music when I'm not in "novel mode". Especially if it evokes pleasant associations for me.
