Since you obviously know the ending, yes everyone dies (well one survives and I think the world got reset or something) and it's probably the most depressing ending around but it's still worth finishing. The middle is so slow but when you get to the end it really picks up and all the cool stuff happens. I highly recommend watching the last five or six episodes in one sitting, though probably with lots of chocolate and tissues.
