What's your favourite stations!
Tell us what station is on fire!

I listen to Digitally Imported Trance
and Entranced.fm most of the time.

Tonight entranced.fm is hot.
They have a tendency to play 2 bad songs for every 1 awesome song
but tonight they are GODLIKE!

Low quality and no selection over what I want to listen to = dumb.

Sadly I agree with Fluke here.....although I listen to Highveld stereo each morning on the way to work to help me wake up, generally I prefer selecting my own playlists rather than hearing Justin Bieber repeated every hour......although if you could recommend something that would be nice...

That’s not true.
Even the 32k streams are just as good as most MP3s
and you get 142k and higher.

Entranced.fm and most other stations allow you to suggest songs or albums.
Because the DJ and other members are likeminded people:
They play songs that you enjoy and songs you did not know you will enjoy.

I am sure there is a dub step station for you somewhere.

Local radio stations repeat songs to death.

I discover something I like every 4 hours at least.

That's no where close-enough to FLAC / ALAC or 320bit .mp3

FLAC - Free Lossless Audio Codec : High end digital audio format, most FLAC songs are about 14 megs and above, most of my music is in FLAC format these days, however you would be hard put to tell the difference between it and 320 bit mp3s unless you have really high end audio equipment, I dont but I like pretending to be an audio snob.

ALAC - Apple Lossless Audio Codec - Apples take on FLAC, went open source sometime in 2011 and therefore less rubbish now, free of some of apples taint. Can be decoded quite quickly and therefore good for limited power mobile devices such as ipads etc

Dont ask me which is better since I dont really care? the human ear can only detect so much.

That entranced.fm and most other stations offer this for free.
You need to get subscriptions in order to get the bigger streams.
Just play it if you dont blieve me.

128k = 128kbps
320k = 320kbps

The difference is very noticeable to me and can easily ruin songs on that small factor of quality alone. There are many, many other factors too but it's 4:22am and I can't be bothered to explain them right now.

320 would probably be too hard to upload for those radio stations as it would require a constant ~30-50kb/s upload per client.

That is way they sell subscriptions to the bigger streams.

And the stream is still mp3 quality. (stated so on their websites)

But don't worry about it Fluke.
Nobody cares it seems.

.mp3 quality could mean anything as you get different qualities of .mp3 files.
