Your race?

People often ask other furries their names, gender or age but never race and it's something that has always bugged me. I've jsut wondered which race ahs the msot furries. Sorry if anyone finds this offensive. Not sure why anyone would but some jsut see any question about race to be offensive >.>

It's an interesting question, since none of us really know till we meet up.

My dad was born in england, his dad was born in germany, my mom was born in ZA, as was her mom, my moms dad was a scot (a graham) i has my own tartan

anyways, so i'm 3/4 English o.o

dun think you can get more white than that either.

I'm a good old fashioned South African mongrel... Mothers side were Rhodesian farmers until her parents, so I've probably got a dose of dutch and coloured blood from there. My father's side was English middle-class, though, and I've got no idea of what is mixed in there. I personally suspect I've got some throwback nordic genes, though, because I thrive in the cold.

Poll results seem pretty unanimous at this stage. It's not racist unless you use it to discriminate. I'm white and South African for a few generations.

Some random points; you've left off a whole bunch of possible races. We had this discussion in class and came up with at least 10 human races.

-Caucasian
-Polynesian
-Chinese
-Japanese
-Pygmy
-African
-Semite
-Mongolian

Asians can be told apart and so can Pygmies and other African races. Apparently you can tell apart the San and Southern Africans from Northern Africans too. Also you should probably say black African because all of us born in South Africa are Africans (although for government purposes your white if you're filling in forms but African if you're going into space).

I just posted the ones I could think of. I suck with remembering these things. Also, when I called myself African in class, the other kids went off at me for calling myself black. I think I'm the only one that's not racist in my class 0-o

Yeah, people tend not to think rationally about race, or most other things actually. I'd have supported you though. I haven't actually done that myself on a form, been too chicken, but my on one of the census forms my dad filled our family in as African.

Funny how we need to go "I am not racist..but" just to say ordinary things even though the intention in the sentence is rarely actually discriminating someone.

I am white here, Bristish/Scottish origins, though don't really know much more than that. I should research my family history sometimes soon, might show some interesting results!

Ok. I might fall under mixed. Part Semite, part Indo-European, part Southeast Asian, and Caucasian. Most people think I'm Greek or Spanish. Either way I love it when people say I'm white and I say, "What makes you think I'm white?" Then they have this confused look on their face and I know that in their heads they are thinking, "Shit, it does kind of look like there's something else in him."
