"How to be a pleasant furry - A Guide for Complete Social Delinquents"

A list of simple things - etiquette if you will - that will help you not make an ass of yourself online.

Probably worth dividing it into categories. I'll start by naming a few. Let's see if we can make a definitive list.

Online Forums, Chat and other Virtual Public Places

- Get a good feel for a group before diving in and participating in the chat
- Avoid discussing Religion, Politics and other controversial topics at all costs
- Don't resurrect dead threads unless there is a very good reason to do so

...

When chatting with other furs in Private

...

At the CON. At the braai. In the real world.

- Go easy on the alcohol. Know your limits and know the people you are with.
- Respect other furries' private space. Especially artists and popular fursuiters.
- Ask before giving hugs or cuddles to a new acquintance.

Apart from the obviously furry-specific (like staying out of the headless lounge), I feel like these are really just normal real life etiquette.

One has to wonder why it is necessary to have this for furries in particular.

Maybe it's just fun?
I'd rather be fursuiting

Suit up and it will make you feel better

People get built different. We don't need to figure it out, we just need to respect it. Maybe he likes his company more than I like mine - Princess Bubblegum

If making a list of things that should be common decency is your idea of fun, sure why not. I've got plenty of ideas to add to this.
