The Chris-Chans

I am not a Chris-tologist.
But I guess you can say I am an Agnostic Chris-Chan.

There is something about this that makes me feel a ‘deep sadness and empathy’ while invoking ‘Schadenfreude and Fremdschamen’.

One would naturally expect this person to be a Poe.
But it turns out it’s all true and very serious.

I introduce to you. Thee (Christopher, Christian, Christine) Chandler.
Creator of the very original Sonichu.

About Chris

About Sonichu

Personally this all really triggers the nihilist in me.
And I can see the ongoing fascination with this person’s life story.
Perhaps someone else will find interest/obsession in this emotional train wreck of pure humanity.

There was another I wanted to talk about.
The “Fuck you! I’m a Dragon!” otherkin.
Unfortunately he died in his prime and had not the same amount of time to create something,
His death was suitably climatic though... But what could have been...
Made me think about what would happen if Chris-Chan leaves us... (Sad moment in Christory indeed)

I believe there is a little Chris-Chan inside all of us. (some more than others)

I've seen a few Chris-Chan documentaries, and he creeps the banoodles out of me. Sonichu itself needs to burn in the fiery depths of the netherworld.

Wow Woa. That was a but insensitive....
I would not run into a church and proclaim they are creepy. (although maybe Scientologists are creepy)

I had to explain my interest on the Chris-Chan phenomenon to somebody recently.

It’s very difficult to explain because they are multiple independent reasons this is interesting. (A perfect storm)

1 it’s like the Truman show.
Data is constantly being gathered and researched.
This normally always brings forward new interesting information.

2 The reality warping effects of the internet.
Chris-Chan became an anchor too the warp/internet causing his life to take both drastic positive and negative directions in a short frequency. This includes just bizarre anomalies.

3 The personal hell and the great Greek tragedy.
Chris-Chan makes you feel angry at the world.
He makes you feel the despair and the hopelessness.
He is like a caught and caged animal that cannot comprehend why he is suffering.
Makes you wonder what you cannot comprehend yourself.
The way he rationalised his dog’s death in his mad art almost cut my hart strings.
It’s the purist child fantasy I have ever seen.

4 The comedy and adventures.
Unintentionally funny in a cringe sort of way.
BUT you need to remember that the source of his farces are from too much honesty.
We laugh at him for things we would know to hide or control. That makes at least “some things” he said or done very relatable to normal people.
And his childlike thought process brings an innocence too it, even if he is an unreasonable brat in doing so.

5 A child dreams coming true. (Sort of)
He wants his unremarkable art to be the next big thing.
Even SEGA knows what Sonichu is.
His comic is probably going to be the most read autobiography in the later future.
And of course Chris-Chan artifacts are very valuable.

Really he is a symbol. (If not a target for others)
He represents the madness of the world and how hostile it really is to children.
Small victories that would mean nothing to me or other people are so cherished by him.
I know that not all of these thoughts and actions are unique to people like him and we can be Chris-Chans sometimes.
But there are things about this world that can be learned from this story.

The greater attraction I have too this phenomenon is the “Perfect Hell” part of it.
Such simple desires, such small hopes, He will never have them ever, and he will never understand.
Our priorities are not nearly the same as his small dreams, but almost all of us will never have our true hopes answered.
