Food & Trees for Africa

Food & Trees for Africa is an NPO that will plant trees, fruit and otherwise, for donations. They charge R130 per tree. Since this is arbour month, it's also in theme.

It appears to be a good cause, and one which I might support. The rate of deforestation here in South Africa is not rapid enough to warrant serious concern, but it is still unsustainable. [1] I shall definitely consider it. Thank you for highlighting this. :)

When i worked for WWF one of the facts we would use is that every hour, somewhere in the globe, one acre (half a football pitch) of trees are cut down.
