Jabe Goodall was reported as saying "China is pillaging Africa like an Old Colonial Europe". Cant agree more. It frustrates me beyond rrason. Hsving been into Zim, Bots, Zambia and Mozambique in the kast two years to see the influence of the chinese is saddening. Yes, they're building infrastructure but not in the areas of need, just in the areas of convenience for themselves.

They arent stupid and theyhave noticed. Having been there and heard the opinions of the people, its a 50/5p split on like it and dont like it. The older generstion actually appreciates the changes a little. The yoinger generstion either dont care or want tk rebel a little.

A meagre $40 million dollars... yes that is meagre, probably more than the country is worth.

However be it good for the country in certain ways it really kills off the local economy that which was left to rot at the mercy of Mugabe in his self interest dictator socialism ways (Yes I know). So is it really such a bad thing?

What else was Zim to do? Wait for their currency and economy to recover, oh please not in the next 100 years. There is a rule of inflation, the more money is printed the more the value of the currency decreases think of it as if there is more of a thing it becomes less valuable. Lets put it in perspective, 1 consumer was seen carrying a wheelbarrow of money this consumer is regarded to be an average consumer. The only way for Zim to come out of the extreme low they were in was to ditch their currency, we've seen this many times before in European countries.

But however it doesn't stop at Zim, it was but the first of many countries yet to fall into that situation. There was speak a few years ago, more of a rumor that Russia was planning to buy out SA in the same context China bought out Zim. Pray to God that doesn't happen or else I'm out of here.

Anyways if you haven't been noticing China is killing our economy slowly but surely. We are more concerned about the political unrest to realise it. Though with good reason to be concerned. China dumped SA for our Iron Ore and imports directly form Australia and cheaper prices sending our Net Exports into a great depreciation, which isn't a good sign as because the exchange rate is what it is now we really need as much as possible exports to sustain our economy.

You might think, but the chinese bringing more shops increases job opportunities and makes economy grow. It does but not for South Africa, they bring their own labour at piss cheap and their own produced products at piss cheap 0 contribution to the SA economy. Their labour is cheap because they don't have unions.

However getting back to the point of the Chinese slowly poisoning our economy and doing so on such an obvious scale as to not even really get that much notice. Take for instance me building a fursuit. Where would I get the fur? From my supplier of course, but the issue here is where does the supplier get the fur? He has to import it and from where? The cheapest is China, however that is somewhat being a contribution to what I am getting to.

Did you know that up until recently, don't ask me for specific dates as I am but 21, South Africa produced most of it's textiles including fur locally and at a much more affordable price, think R20-R50 per meter, cheaper than R300 per meter. However since directly importing from China has become much cheaper than producing there has been no more need for producing fur as already made products i.e teddy bears were being imported at a fraction of the cost.

This generally applies for most things in our economy these days i.e cars. Take my Kia Picanto for instance. Since cheaper cars have been imported the amount of cars produced in SA has plummeted and the market has taken a beating. However this isn't a bad thing for necessarily for consumers. But impacts local businesses quite harshly. Get what I'm saying?

However I do not feel there is need to be concerned as this is a rule that I deal with on a daily basis is that the world changes so rapidly each day that it's impossible to keep up.

However I am not shocked that Zim was taken over by a country far exceeding all African countries wealth I am concerned by the fact that it is China, for the above mentioned reason.

Also there is the concern of China's systems being implemented in a neighboring African country putting pressure on countries around it due to political influence and yada yada.
