Who likes Heavy Gear? or any mechs for that mater.
This pic is about the same age as my dragon pic (mid 2013)
But I am just as proud of it. I was and still am a fan of the heavy gear animated series.
I know they made a game a while back, never got a chance to try it.

Well I played the first Mechwarrior and later later Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries. That was kinda fun.

Yeah, I was just about to say that I loved the Mech Warrior games as a kid. It's MW:O still alive? What about that mech shooter?

It was released at the same time as MW:O, but the name escapes me right now. I'll check it when I'm at the hotel.

I am also fond of the mech in District 9.
It's so versatile (it has a large variety of ways to eliminate your enemies).

I don't know the games, but that looks pretty awesome! I'm a huge mech fan when it comes to art... Strype does it best! Check him out!

It's called Hawken. Has anyone played it? I got a beta key back then, and never even bothered installing it.

Oh, yeah! I also played that for a while.
The weapons laked feel, descent damage, but
still seems like you're firing a pea shooter.
And the teamwork reliance is very heavy.
Was fun to kill time, wouldn't replace other FPS's.

Not a fan of Gundam, but that's probably because I don't like the massively over the top way that the Japs often do things. My siblings tried to get me into Attack on Titan, and I just ended up hating it.

Megas XLR is where my mech anime starts and ends thank you.
Did watch Medabots, but the ending was so random.
Where as the others I tried were; what the fudge? from the word go.
Been avoiding ever since.

I agree Medabots was a little annoying, but I loved how much attitude they could fit in those 3 foot frames.

You definitively wouldn't be wandering what show you're watching within a 2 minute interval.

Hey guys just moving this thread here since it's more topical as a discussion at present.

Re: Mech Discussion
glad to see you all enjoying this , how about some older Anime like the ones I watched when the sci-fi channel was still on dstv (15 years ago).
one is Blue Gender with a lot of drama though . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Gender
and also BubbleGum Crisis for something more sinister in nature lolz https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bubblegum_Crisis

Re: Mech Discussion
Here's a thought experiment; What would be a key feature/signature trait of your mech? (don't be boring)
Mine would be to stream the most annoying & obnoxious audio and video to the enemy (think Rigroll, nyan cat and What does the Fox say?). They can not trun it off so they would have to retreat out of range or fight in an impaired state.

The ability to generate decoys while simultaneously being able to actively camouflage itself (i.e. cloaking). Think of how useful that would be.

Well... I've always been fascinated by telekinesis...
My character can put up a telekinetic shield for a short period of time...

An other option can be to invert their controls, that would make them feel really stupid.

That is very creative! I can definitively see how fog, heavy rain or a sand storm can impair visibly. Giving you the upper hand.
