Voting systems

Interesting video on voting systems:

I think there's still a much bigger flaw with the entire election system. No matter how your election is determined, at the end you have a situation where a subset of the population is being ruled by a party or person who they did not vote for or with whom they fundamentally disagree. And for any minority voting group, it is impossible to win, so, for them, voting has little real meaning.

Potentially the way to overcome that is to adopt an anarchist position where people only follow the leader (or no leader) that they choose and are not forced to follow specific leaders. That requires complete freedom of movement without borders so people can self sort into chosen communities and smaller areas of influence, perhaps limited at city size. The larger the area administered by a single person or group, the larger the number of people who are likely to be coerced into a system they did not choose.
"If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind."
~John Stuart Mill~

“Give me the liberty to know, to utter, and to argue freely according to conscience, above all liberties.”
~John Milton~
