Thanks Trace. *hugs*

Here's my new poem. Thanks Ivic for the poem title. *hugs*

Past, Present and Future

Water on the floor
Closed was the door
Kids in the bath, rubber ducks and more
Tap left open...I feel sorry for all four

Intellect astounding
Teachers teaching something resounding
Showing students, the education they’ve been founding
Uniqueness in its surrounding

Dusty books on shelves
Looking at them, possibly be about elves
Winning a battle, enjoying themselves

“Just look at yourself, all cheeky
Smartphones and tablets making you a dummy.”

Past
Present
and
Future
Now all we’ve become is an emotionless computer

I literally had nothing to do and I made a poem of nothing to do. The hell?
Enjoy!

Nothing

I’m bored, there’s nothing to do.
Must I just sit here and look at you?

Four sunflower walls
Maybe I should make a few calls?
No, wait I’m not popular. They must all be at the malls.
Or maybe I could walk down these halls?

Pen and paper
Jesus, he confessed that he raped her!

Computer
It’s technology
Or I can talk to my mommy?

Nah, she’ll talk about religion
I’m not as dumb as that pigeon.

I could cook
I just need to get that cookbook
Or I could sketch in your sketchbook
Just need to find my notebook

Where Patches?
Damn cat
Black, white and pettable
His cuddles are recomendable

Or I could just write a poem.
I just got to make sure it doesn’t get stolen
Else it’ll just be worth a token

I have no idea what I was thinking about doing this free verse but yeah. I was basing this on how when we always feel like everything is now nothing, we have to remember that there is hope (light).

Light

Sun
Candle
Lantern then
Torch

Light, spreading and killing the darkness
Stabbing it and showing us a path

A kid lost
Wondering in the darkness of the Earth
Finding her way only to be thieving to live
Parents’ death took a toll

An old woman, dressed in white
Reached out her hand to the child
seeing a light of innocence.
“Come child. Come stay with me.”
Tearful happiness
Finally a life to live
Stepping off the edge of the bridge

The light will come to the heart
Father Time, is a slow progressor though.

So I'm trying to add in an aftermath for "Light". Hope this gives you an ending you didn't expect.

Dark

So that’s how it’s going to be
You decided to leave me in the dark
Why did you ignore my only plea?
Darkness gave me his mark

Scarred and scratched
Bandages making my bleeding hand patched
Light dying, she's outmatched
They lied and became fake
Winning you over with a slice of cheesecake
Poisoned and tainted
Blood painted:
“You should’ve believed him”

Laughing and snickering
Police sirens wailing
Body in blood
All to be paired with cliched raining

Women offering some “fun”
I’d rather listen to a bad pun
Or better, ask the man with a gun
He seems desperate

Looking at the corner of the road
More death and more blood
Bloody footprints with mud

The darkness in all truth
Is tarnishing our youth
Covering the light
Time to head to the broken blue phone booth
Healer the heals, refusing to be healed

Insomnia

I’m tired, goddamn sleepy
I’m going to bed
People are creepy
The voice had said

Dear God, it’s her
Insomnia

“Who was that guy you were checking out the other day?”
Sigh, he was dreamy but that was only in May.
“Why, don’t you talk to him? Are you a wimp?”
Well at least I’m not a pimp

Looking and scratching
Something to make my statement matching
I need her out or I’ll use tea
Maybe then she can leave me be

Broken Rainbow

Yellow for the sun
They had their fun
Paint in the paint gun
Let’s see how long it lasts in the long run

Dots of black
Like everyones flak
Dark and judging
In the end people will be smudging
names, they did not see coming

White for purity and light
Showing all the blight
Getting rid with all its might

Blending he sprays
She never needed praise
Torn and tattered
He threw a rock and left her shattered

Red for her rage
Making a bloodied cage
All for a minimum wage
Regretting her marriage

For him, he thinks he is blue
Sad and disappointed
He bid her adieu
Fingers surely will be pointed

Dark purple
Splashed on the fancy marble
Full of mystery and pride
Now there was definitely nowhere to hide

Green for Christianic immortality
What about his sick beastiality?
Then again he wasn’t sure of morality

This poem is about being controlled and then finally snapping. A marionette on the other hand is a string puppet.

Marionette

Strings attached
I’m clearly outmatched
Paint became my makeup
You pulled one string and my hand raised up

I listened to you
Something that I’d always do
Wooden stained by the paint blue
My mind you loved to screw

Glooming over me, under your control
You’re colder than the North Pole
Brown wool became my hair
I won all of your dares

You said “I love you”
F**k you
Glass bead eyes
You’re near to demise

You’re time is up
Strings ripped from my body
I gave you a heads-up
You’ve become a nobody

Pair of scissors nearby
Into the heart
Good bye
Now we can officially part

Hey, so Ivic and I did a poem together again! Yay!

Conversations of a Madman:

Crazy and distorted
Well that’s what everyone reported
Old and grey
What could he possibly say?

“I am man.” he cried,
A placated face in terror,
“But only man” he sighed,
“Assumed that I could weather…”

He seems interesting though
Glass in his hand...I think that he had borrowed
Old, torn clothes
These guys really hurt him all for the show

“You have gone too far”
he grumbles to himself,
“You’ve taken life and then my star”
“As though you knew yourself”

I must admit, he seems crazy
A simple gesture, a single poppy,
was given to him today,
As lo, I know the ferryman needs his pay.

“A flower? A flower!?”
“A reminder of my plight”
“But oh, in my final hour”
“This may guide my night.”

I'm currently working on another poem but due to not having experience to the topic, I saved it and made this one.
This poem is about, no matter how madly you're in love, don't let love blind you as to the what the person really is.

Why? II

Why me?
Why them?
Why did this have to happen?

He’s CANCER, don’t you see?!
Growing and festering
He acts all forgiving
All “religious” and willing
(What fodder is he spewing?)

Give me a break...

Paris? Why?
Next thing he uses you dry
Are you blind?!

How come don’t you answer your phone?
Oh, he’s hidden it
He’s kept you hanging
How do you believe him lying?

All “knowledgeable” and “smart”
Poison tipped dart
You two need to part
Or else you'll divorce in court.

The title came from a song by Chloe x Halle.
This poem I wanted to base upon how I'm currently dealing with everything, holding it together and rooting out those that are fake without finally losing my shit with everyone. But hey, someone talks, they'll listen to one side and not both. Pitiful and disgusting in my opinion.

Fake

Another plastic body
Just another sad copy
“Made in China” faux pas, Barbie

Let’s see,
who’s it going to be?
For real? Me?

You’ll hide behind your media
Go and read these words in an encyclopedia:
Gossip and slander
Cause clearly you think this is a cute little banter

You say I’m fake
I have something that you need to partake
It’s called reality
I’ll even give you glasses for 3D

Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
We have another baby, get me the pram.

“Why you gotta be so fake?”
“Why you even speak my name?”
Clearly you need a good freaking shake
Go and find someone else for you to blame

Move along

Why are you constantly talking about me?
Just please leave me be!
What else do you have to see?!

You left me hanging
My body busy suffocating
A foot from the ground, dangling
Did you want to see me dying?

You’re “friends” with me
You’re worse than the sting of a bee
Smiled with glee
Thinking I wouldn’t see

Move along
Let me play my own song
Add in a drum or a gong
Leave me so I can be where I belong

Alone and dreaming
Not, together and screaming
Looking at the roof
I just ask to be aloof

So I had visited my grandmother (Ouma) a week back and she had something playing and I enjoyed...until the song got stuck in my head.

Repetition

Songs busy breaking
It’s only making my head enormously aching
Note by note, disappearing
All of them separating

New songs coming in
Playing with it’s repetition
It’s now become its own little continuation
Closing up the separation

The record stuck on a note
Repeating itself, scratched it broke
Ouma’s favourite tune
She said it reminded her, about the sun and the moon

Listening
Gleaming
What beautiful song am I hearing?
All I know is that I love these old things that I’m seeing.

Forgotten

Four whole years down the line
You dedicated your life
for spirits and cheap wine
You’re busy forgetting your own grandchildren and wife

Your disease...I’m sorry but is spreading
He’s grandson kept on weeping
Doors constantly creaking
All that grandfather was doing was just sleeping

“Who are you?”
You had little thew
You pointed at something you drew
“Are you someone I knew?”

You have forgotten memories
“Were my favourite fruit, cherries?”
I can’t believe you even forgot who you married
The family wants you quickly buried.
