"The Body" by Stephen King. I don't know why they changed the name of the movie to "Stand by me". Maybe to make it sound less horrific, I dunno. One of the few movies based off one of his stories that don't suck, probably because they almost follow it word for word.

I finished "You can't read this book" and "Robinson Crusoe!" ^^ I've now started "Doomwhyte" from the Redwall series.

I just discovered the most hugely entertaining little manga, "Inumimi". It's about a kid who comes home from his trip to Canada only to discover that his mad scientist Dad turned his three dogs into human girls!
It's slightly NSFW. :3

Woke up after sleeping for a little while.
Started and finished 1408 by Stephen King.
Yeah... I didn't need to sleep again.
(and why does the red light of the aircon bother me so much...)

I've been reading the "Slightly Damned" webcomic. It starts out kinda simple, but it gets surprisingly deep and emotional once you get past the 90 page mark.

Cursed by David Wellington (AKA Frostbite)
Really enjoying it, its very light reading, but I like the way its written, and it the fact that its actually a different take on Warewolves, they transform nightly into a larger wolf, and age extremely slowly (without giving too much away) , really liking the female protagonist.
About a 1/3 of the way into it...

I totally missed my own 800th post too! >.<
I recently read a comic by Jay Naylor, "Better Days". Just be warned, it deals with very mature issues, and although it doesn't feature excessive nudity, it's not entirely safe for work.
The story itself is definitely one of the deepest I've seen in a webcomic, if you can read past the second chapter, that is. After that, it moves into deathly serious territory.

I've been reading Death Note. It's about a high school student who finds the Death Note of a Shinigami (Japanese God of Death). Any person who's name is written in that book will die forty seconds later.
Lies upon lies! Endless deception! Intense intellectual strife. A constant battle of wits. A psychological game of chess between a student who believes he's making the world a better place, and the eccentric investigator out to quell the inhuman monster who can strike down anyone... at any time... from any place...
This is truly an excellent manga.

Ooh, I've read all of those! It's supposed to be King's Magnum Opus, but I didn't enjoy them nearly as much as some of his other works. Have you read Misery? It's my favourite book of all time.Accretion wrote:Stephan King The Dark Tower II drawing of three. Freaky weird horror craziness.

Not Misery yet but am myself a huge Stephan King fan. Read From a Buick 8, Pet cemetery (Way worse than the movie) and Cell. Obviously now doing the Dark Tower thus I’m already through the Gunslinger and just started with Drawing of three.Contrast wrote:Ooh, I've read all of those! Stephen King is the reason I became a novelist. Some of my favourites are Misery, The Dead Zone, It, The Shining, Christine, Firestarter, Different Seasons, The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon, Tommyknockers, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Skeleton Crew, On writing, The Green Mile, and Carrie. I actually own most of those (and a whole stack of others).

Okay, I've finished Bad Pharma. There's some scary stuff in there but it's definitely worth reading. I haven't quite decided what to read next. I've got some big books that need reading but I might switch back to classics and read the two Alice in Wonderland books as they're rather short.

I've now finished Sun Tzu's 'Art of War' and have just started reading 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' by 'Luo Guanzhong'.
This is one of those weird times when i've played the video-games before reading the book, though from what i've read so far, this will be awesome! (you can also replace the word 'awesome' with 'extremely difficult' )
