Rakuen's Art

I was interested in 3D animation a while ago and made this as a quick test to see if I could animate a movie. The voices are all me, but none are how I sound in real life.

Keita's symbol

Post by Rakuen Growlithe »

Keita asked me to help him do his personal symbol so here're the four draft versions I did (just colour changes)

and the final version.

Hmm, not bad, though try finishing the paw on the White half in a black colour, it would make the paw look a little more complete.

It's not meant to be complete. It's just on the one half of the yin yang.

A picture of Anoyomouse I drew. The idea was probably cuter in my head but anyway. I mixed up traditional and digital artwork to try make it look better than my normal pictures.

Broken Glass

#10

Post by Rakuen Growlithe »

I couldn't find a good-fit song so I just added some lyrics from a cool song. And remember; Source sucks, 1.6 forever!

"We are falling
The light is calling
Tears inside me
Calm me down

Midnight calling
Mist of resolving
Crown me, with the
Pure green leaf

Bless me with the
Leaf off of the tree
On it I see
The freedom reign

Praise to my father
Blessed by the water
Black night, dark sky
The devil's cry"

Draw by hand then photograph it and ink and colour that in Gimp.

Okay nice. :) You should maybe try give the eyes a bit of shading. A spot of light there and some shading underneath does a lot to make them look more lively.

Are you a spy?

#17

Post by Rakuen Growlithe »

This is a combination of my desire to see a vulpix in latex and to draw a cool picture of future Twilight. My art is, to my continuing frustration, not good enough to satisfy me. So this picture is actually a collaboration. I need to thank my sister for drawing the vulpix outline for me. I added the accessories and did all the digital colouring. Since I've found you can get brushes and textures that basically draw for you I can't help wondering if that's a lot of the difference between good and excellent furry artists. I'll have to give them a try sometime and see what happens.

Wonder whether I should just make one thread for all my work. What you guys think?

Awesome Pic, love the Garrus Vakerian like monocle-visor-thing....

Brushes and Textures that do the work for you? I don't want to sound lazy but colouration is my greatest flaw, so what brushes and textures are these and where can I find them?

I dunno. Never used them. But it seems like you can get brushes/textures for fur, for example, and then as you paint it automatically makes stuff look like fur. It's letting computers do things for you, sort of like I use blurring and transparency tools.

And I have played Mass Effect but I don't remember monocles really. They aren't that rare in things and this was mostly based off the scouters from Dragonball Z.

Gimp. Well lines are done in pencil then send photograph to pc and Gimp for all digital work.

i used Gimp once, then i discovered SAI and fell in love. sure, it doesn't have the editing stuff like PGimp, Paint.Net or Photoshop (Oh how I want bleeding PHOTOSHOP!!!!!!!!!!!) but it gives neat lines and good shading type option.

having said that, and having worked in Gimp, thats a really awesome pic to have come from that program.

Grayhound, is Corel nice to work with? is it a good stand up against something like a photoshop?

just wondering :D

Coffee mug fight? Why wasn't I invited? :(

I personally like Coral due to the mind-boggling ton of stuff you can use to create art with, from an array of charcoals and different types of paint to pencils, leaky markers and painting using a sponge. Sadly my artistic skill is not nearly good enough to do Coral justice. Compared to photoshop, well I haven't really used photoshop much myself, however Coral does have a theme-set-mode-thingy called photoshop which seems to be able to do most of what photoshop itself can, but then, not really using photoshop myself much, I'm not sure.

I'll let Terror demo Coral for you on Sunday ;)

Punk you're welcome to play with it and see if you like. I've only got version 11 though so not sure how much it differs to version 12 that Gray uses.
It's what I tried to use for my digital colours, but can't seam to but on screen the same way my hands can with pencils :|
