[Option 1 wins]

He starts to search around in the gloom for a piece of wreckage that would fit in the handle. It takes a few tries but he eventually finds a jagged piece of metal that was not like a small dagger. He slots the smaller and sharp end into the handle of the large hatch way and pulls down on it using all his weight. The handle shudders a little and slides down suddenly with a course sliding sound but it appeared to have loosened. He sighs with relief and attempts to turn to handle again, this time finding it turning much easier. Inside the catch for the lock made a faint click sound and the hatch popped open slightly with a sudden sucking noise.

The figure gingerly pushed the door open, keeping a skeptical attitude about the safety of this endeavor but found that the inside was just a small plainly light room with an identical hatchway.

There was another red light in the room and the walls were a smooth white. He stepped inside to try and open the second hatch. The handle did not even wiggle, it did not feel seized up. There were instructions near the door. It showed a white little figure with a large round head opening closing the hatch and pressing a button. Then the figure seemed to be doing some kind of hand sign where the fingers were closed and the thumb was up. It looked friendly and reliable. He shrugged and decided that it was worth following clear instructions like this.

He went and closed the hatch , sealing himself in the small room. The red light went off and the rooms lights started to fade down.

He was loosing confidence in the instructions.

Something clicked and a row of small red lights appeared at the floor. They flickered and then started moving upwards until they hit the ceiling. Then they switched off again. there was an agitated sounding churning sound as if something was not quite right. There was a small sliding noise above him as machinery started up, and the sound of something spinning. Then water came out of the roof, soaking him. The water quickly was sucked out into the floor. Suddenly a deafening blast of air rushed into the room carrying white powder. He coughed, covered in white powder. Before he could even think to complain, another blast of air carried all the powder off his fur and left him feeling very fluffy. He blinked , the light above the door was now green and the rooms white environmental lights had come back up too. There was a happier sounding whir and a small click sound. The hatch started to open by itself, sliding open. He was inside the strange building now.

He stepped into a small room with two hallways heading out from it and a blue hatchway. The room was illuminated with a faint and tired white lights. The floor was the same faintly coloured fabric that the domes had on the floor. It felt firm even though he could swear that it was a little , bouncy. The room itself seemed to have cupboards on the walls but they were made of metal.

The walls were the same white colour as the room he just came from but had coloured lines running along it, down the hallways, and into the distance. Above each coloured line was a letter and a word. He could read the words but their meanings were mostly lost on him. The lines were labeled: "5A crew quarters, 5B crew mess, 5C crew ablution , 5D gymnasium , 5E recreation room".. There were also signs with arrows on them having the same white figures doing various kinds of poses. One seemed to be running into a very strange looking snake, the other was running away from strange wavy lines coming out of the floor. The walls themselves seemed to have pipes running along them occasionally, metal handles seemed placed along the walls.

He inspected the blue door. It had a sign above it reading "Suit storage A". He wondered what kind of suit it meant and if he should go inside. Then again, he would probably find more things that would confuse him, perhaps it would be better to see if he could find a main room and hopefully someone to help him. The thought sunk home, he panicked slightly. He was definitely trespassing, how would he explain what he was doing here.

He just was not sure at all what to do next:

1. Go to down the hall and explore (insert location here).
2. Check out the suit storage room
3. Check out the metal cupboards

I was almost expecting an electronic voice to say "Decontamination complete." when the light turned green.

I would go for #2, seeming as he's naked, it would probably be inappropriate to meet someone else like this.

^^Same, but then again..how do we know they speak the same language! :o

#2, because protective gear can be useful, I'm sure ;)
Leeward, surely being naked as an anthro is far less inappropriate than as a human :D
Hope he finds the H.E.V. mark IV, that thing is baus! :P

[Option 2 wins by popular demand]

He eyes the blue door carefully. He decided that it would be best to explore methodically and do the closest areas first. He walked past the metal cupboards , their narrow forms a little intimidating as somehow they looked like he could fit inside one. Luckily they seemed to have breathing holes in them. Still, he walked as quickly as he could towards the door.

The door beeped cheerfully and opened, the metal panels of the door sliding quickly into the wall. This was unnerving too. He wondered if he took to long, that they might close on him during his travel through. He stepped through quickly and into the room.

The inside was a darker, matted, grey. The room had long shelves on the left side with strange and shiny rounded domes with a hole in the bottom. The opposite side had lots of cloth of different colors. Directly ahead was more fabric but this was white and silver. There also seemed to be a rack with cylinders, loose hoses coming off them.

He noticed the floor had more of the friendly instruction pictures pasted down on it. He did not really have the luxury of good light before when he saw the previous sign but now they were clearly a lot more crude, some of them seemed loose on the floor. He walked over and started to read it.

There was a dark stick figure with pointy ears and three legs. He turned his head sideways. He coughed and blushed a little.

He tried the thought again. There was a dark stick figure with pointy ears and tail and TWO legs. It seemed relatively plain and in no danger. He liked the picture.

Next to the figure was a badly drawn picture of an eye. Three dotted lines were coming out of the eye and leading to badly drawn versions of the things in the room: the rounded domes, the coloured fabric, and the silvery fabric. Each of these pictures had arrows pointing to another dark stick figure to at it head and chest.

He assumed that this meant that the items in the room were a kind of clothing. ALIEN clothing! He actually was getting rather excited rather then puzzling over why the pictures were there and why the alien is meant to fit him.

He read the last part of the picture series quickly in his excitement. There was an arrow running from the next picture, which looked like the cylinders, and to the silver clothing. This part confused him but the picture seemed informative and friendly so he followed the instructions.

He put down the red and silver object he had been carrying around on one of the shelves. Then, he carefully picked up the needed supplies from the room and headed to where the cylinders were on the wall. He noticed that another series of pictures has been stuck on the wall by the cylinders. These ones seemed to indicate that the hose plugged into the back of the suit and that he would need to turn the nozzle on the cylinder.

He followed these perfectly plain instructions too. He placed the nozzle into the silver suits back, it shuddered a little and a humming noise was heard. He and watched in amazement as the suit stiffened up. A hump was developing on the cloth and after a while the nozzle stopped humming, seeming to have completed its intended purpose.

He guessed it was time to put it all on. He smiled a little. It was nice to get some clothing on, walking around naked this whole time had been a big chore. The coloured fabric was actually rather soft and comfortable. He had picked a navy blue. He guessed that blue must be his favorite colour or something. He then put the white and silver suit on. It took a bit of initial figuring out but he found out he had a knack for this alien stuff.

His paws slip through quickly, leg for leg and he lifts up the suit to his midsection, the arm parts wobbling about. He is startled to see that the suit contracts and shapes itself to the contour of his leg. He runs his paws over the fabric, it was quite form fitting. He pushed his arms through the rest of the suit and felt it do the same. The suit flapped loosely in the front. He zipped it up and marveled as the suit now fit him perfectly. He picked up the dome which he realized was a helmet and placed it over his head. There was a small swoosh as air started to fill the helmet.

He could see perfectly fine while wearing the helmet, the visor being see through from every direction. There was also some floating symbols that always stayed right on the bottom right of his view. There was some numbers too. He reached up and touched the outside of his helmet, to try and touch the symbols but they did not waiver or move.

Something odd happened though. He realized that he had been looking towards the row of helmets. There was now some text floating above it. It read: Mark IV Environmental Suit. He shook his head a little. He realized he had read that incorrectly, it actually just said: space walk suit. He found himself wondering what that meant. The suit seemed to have heard his thought and words started to trail down the left of his view. "This space suit is meant for local based space walks. Basic levels of anti-radiation are assured but for longer and more hazardous walks, please use the heavy suits which are a signature orange colour."

He fell over on his tail from shock. Then he got up because he felt stupid. He was glad that he could now figure out what various things around him are though some of the terminology was foreign to him. He decided to test out his amazing new power.

He looked towards the cylinders that had inflated his suit. He inspected the first one he saw. It was a black cylinder with a white strip at the top. The readout on the screen labeled it as a pressurized pure oxygen.air canister and gave a small warning about keeping away from fire. The next one was nitrogen, having a red patch at the top, a similar but boring readout followed.

His new power was informative but a little taxing to deal with. He wished that it could just put the information in his mind rather then assaulting his eyes with it. He sighed and walked back over to retrieve his silver and red thing he had left on one of the shelves . He inspected it now and read out its name. It was a Swissinator 5000. The helmet informed him that it was the latest in a long line of swiss army knives and contained a lot of useful things inside but it seemed to be locked to a certain owner or it wouldn't open.

The screen does something new. A message on the screen asks "Do you want to store it?". He shrugs. Why not.

The object glows bright for a brief second and then ceases to exist. A small message pops on the screen telling you that you still have 798 kg of space left in your box.

You are dumbfounded.

What do you do next?

1. STORE ALL THE STUFF! (you can list what you want here)
2. Leave the room and travel to (place)
3. Play with the suit some more.
4. Do some sick dance moves in your snazzy new gear.

#2, go to the crew quarters.

There isn't really anything he might need here, the suit is pretty self-explanatory and there doesn't seem to be much more to do here anyway.
