Oddly, I tend to do this fairly often. I tend to just do it to check things out, sometimes I post but often times I just read through and catch back up the next day. Maybe they don't "want to disturb"

Look, remember, England is a very wild, uncivilized country. I heard that they have a mad brood-mother who refuses to die that is constantly surrounded by the red guard. Aside from that they fail to have adequate parking for everyone.

And don't even get me started on their police forces. Have you SEEN Hot Fuzz? Also remember they ride sheep in the street and their favourite form of art involves all different means of farming. And if a game has any form of blood in it expect an inquiry to be done towards how "violent" it is. As the country seems to not have the mental capacity to understand the difference between games making people violent and people making people violent. (See my previous comment about the mad brood-mother and Hot Fuzz)

Also take everything that Dylan Moran says about the country as absolutely true. They may consider overfeeding you. That may be a deeply concerning issue.

Because there is a time and place for everything. Sometimes neither time nor place are in position to be used which brings me to an anecdotal story about something that involves when time and place where aligned.

This story has a general introduction that explains the basis of the story and generally includes the names of the people involved, the setting and the general gist. By this point I've segwayed to one end to explain a bit more about certain things pertaining to this situation using a "as some of you know" line and then continuing with my general contextual point and then the paragraph would end.

Directly after that the story proper would commence with many other segways to ensure that those who have yet to meet me will understand the general concept of who I may be and would take up a fair bit of the next paragraph.

That will lead to a third paragraph which generally starts with "back to the story" which would include other quips and pieces of info that have little to do with the story and will eventually end with the wilted "punchline" and end abruptly with me staring awkwardly at my class and sighing as most of the anecdotal segways etc. would have flown over their heads anyway because they don't read often enough.

In a short general point, I dunno.

You know, it's absolutely shocking that software developers in CT earn only barely above what the minimum wage in the US is. I'm educated and work in a crazy stressful environment, and some guy flipping patties at a MacDonalds is pulling a similar amount.

Dude, you need to take the exchange rate into account. If I look at my salary right now it's a pittance in respect to what is earned overseas. A high school teacher gets paid $40k per annum that equivocates to R504k here. Yet that isn't really a lot overseas. Don't even attempt to pull equivalent salary between what you earn here and what is earned there.

yeah, like if i look at what I will earn as a waitress in London, I'm going to earn on average 200-250 pounds a week... that's nearly 5000 SA rands... except that accommodations will cost me roughly 100-120 pounds a week, groceries about 70 pounds a week and transport a fair amount...

that's gonna leave me very little money for myself...

comparing salaries with overseas just doesn't work well... there's far too much other stuff to take into account.

You should be able to get away with less than 70GBP a week for food unless you buy really decadently. My brother and sister in law spend that for 2 in a week.

Depending where you want to stay you could get accommodation a bit cheaper. I found sharing with the locals rather than the antipodeans and Saffas was cheaper.
