Paintball

Well, here it is, the paintball thread

for paintball freaks, fanatics, and just people that like the game, even if you suck

I got Wolfers to get me some pics!

so here are my arms:
Tippmann A-5 and Tippmann TPX paintball gun and paintball pistol
Tippmann A-5 and Tippmann TPX paintball gun and paintball pistol
A Tippmann A-5 Steath mod, just with a 16" barrel on it, i'll get some pics with the flatline on it, shoots further than most speedball fields, and pretty accurate too, so playing speedball for me is like standing on one side of the field and shooting everyone, cause they are all in range, The merker also has an E-Trigger and the standard gas assist feed, it can fire 15 rounds a second stock standard, and the extra large hopper can hold 400 rounds, which the gun can fire out in 20 seconds, also featured is the gun handle (modified to fit). my main marker, i've put a lot of money into it, but i still suck ^.^;

The Tippmann TPX pistol is a new accessory i've recently bought (like 2 weeks ago), going to put some paint through it this weekend, but is going to be fun, 7 round magazine, and a 12g CO2 cylinder, also you can see the remote line kit i've added for when i want to practise, so i don't have to use the small cartages to fire (takes it from 12-> 14 shots to -on a 20oz CO2- 680 odd shots)

then there's the other side, my brother's guns (tho i actually bought them):
Spyder Extra and Spyder Phoenix
Spyder Extra and Spyder Phoenix
A Spyder Extra and a Spyder Phoenix
The Extra is your standard Semi-auto paintball gun. The Phoenix is an Etrigger, with Anti-Chop and an Agitated feed to give you 13 rounds a second, your "starter" inexpensive speedball gun, i think it was R2k about 4-5 years ago, anyways, a pretty decent marker for what we paid

Anyways, that's a basic overview of what i've got ....

Anyone want to play a game at some point
i'm sooo gonna die
everyone thinks i'm good at it, so they target me, so i don't get many shots in.

Gun: BT TM 15
Hopper: Dye Rotor
Mask: I3 pro
Other: Spider remote coil
Frd Grip
My Baby the BT TM15 + Dye Roter
My Baby the BT TM15 + Dye Roter
I love the box they give it in
I love the box they give it in
Other stuff
Other stuff
I bought the TM15, 2 months ago from Blades & Triggers but only played with it twice.
It is electro-pneumatic: thus it has no bolt and is programmable.
It needs a good Feeder Like the Dye rotor.
The Dye rotor
The Dye rotor
(unfortunately I can't fit sights on it any more – planing on getting a off rail with window red dot sight to compensate.)
The BT rip clip does not cut it.
I can shoot up to 25 bps but I keep it at 15.
Semi, 3 burst, and full: I prefer 3 burst.

Accuracy is a huge problem for me.
I used to have a useless Tippman bravo 1 that I bought from Paintball Fusion
(don't buy from Paintball Fusion – Those aribs sell broken guns and coils that they tried to reaper). :x
the BT15 is accurate but I cant seem to get good paint anywhere.
Does any one have suggestions on good paint?

I know it looks and sounds intimidating but I play paintball really badly.
I always make stupid mistakes when playing (I make good cannon fodder though).

The TM15 is supposed to be a silenced marker: the barrel is covered by the shroud that is supposed to muffle the sound. It is still very loud.
I was told to get some cotton or stereo-foam and line the inside of the shroud with it, haven’t got around to doing that yet.

I usually play at the Woods.
Battle Zone is also convenient driving distance away from me but my fiends choose to avoid that place because of bad service quality and lack of serious players.

It is my B-day this weekend so I will probably try to do paintbail 18th... Hopefully.
My first victim.
My first victim.
Did not chronograph it that day.
Shot through the hard plastic container.

Hey

Nice marker

I doubt the plastic shroud will do anything for noise on your marker, my A-5 is pretty damn loud, but i know where and how it shoots so i'm pretty accurate with it, except with the flatline, but that gives you distance of awesome.

My A-5 came from blades and triggers, and my TPX was bought there as well from the East Rand Mall (the ERM)

The only thing that makes Paintball difficult for me is wen everyone does their own thing and nothing is co-ordinated, and everyone just turns into an ass, and things go bleh.

Hope i can get that sorted out, but yeah, have to do some more practise then take you on and see how i fare i guess.

I watched and read paintball reviews to make my decision on what to go with.
Most of the reviews sad it was very silent.
The sound does not bother me at all, I am just saying it is a myth.

So what fields do you people play at and your opinions about them?
I am rather board of The Woods (my friends always drag me there).
I want to play somewhere different.

And here we have the specimen known as the "Fridgis Doorus", it's just sitting there being innocent

And then we have a mouse with a grin, and a crazy bat with my cellphone ;)

the door takes several hits, the bat takes a stray "splut" from a ricochet, and the fridge door gets a nice paintball wedged in the hard plastic ... here take your fridge door, open it, try put a hole in it .. you can't .. the paintball gun can (also, i'm not near 300fps in the vid)

So here for your viewing pleasure:

Wow! That is a really nice suit. 8-)
That uniform just looks so Cool.
I got some cash from my B-day party.
I think I want to spend it on a proper suit.

Does it get hot in there?
My first problem I always have is the heat (3rd reason I hate the summer).
I want to get something that will help with that problem.

Is that a flare and some sort grenade?
I must be mistaken.

R U on http://www.paintball.co.za?
My name on it is SL/\SH if you are.

This is the crap I wear: :(
Sorry for the blurry image.(it is not worth another picture.)

Tallen is offline, so i'll answer for him, yes, the suit is hot, he was over heating after the 30 mins it took to get the pics :p
Stefan wrote:Is that a flare and some sort grenade?

And no, you are correct, that's a smoke grenade, and a flare
Stefan wrote:You guys look like you got your own private range. (nice)
it helps having a friend on the plots, I had my own "range" at my parents place, shooting a stack of roof tiles, but the paintballs killed all the grass, so parents stopped us doing it, wish i had some photos of what it looked like :P

...and just people that like the game...
Um, yeah, that was my cue I suppose :P ...

Where'd the bat come from? Very nice gear bat, very nice indeed! :D I really like your guns as well Stephan and Anoyo.

Great to see such enthusiasts on: I myself am a complete amateur to the point where I just rent and get kicks from camping for 10 minutes in long grass before ambushing 4 twelve year olds (and giving the occasional welt to a big angry Dutchman( most of this in the name of the 'UCT paintball club') ) but damn do I enjoy seeing serious hardware like this!

Keep the pics and videos rollong! :geek:

Got it! ;)

I always get bad paint. :x
There is either a large air bubble or undissolved paint inside the ball that causes the shots to spread out more.

I also get these paintballs that have a crappy seal along its radius:
Either it has a strip that stands out or a fissure, as a result of the manufacturing proses.

The worst would be when the piantballs comes in contact with hard surfaces and overtime start getting these dimples that completely make the shot spiral off.
Just the box the paint comes in can cause this.

The woods sell paint that does that.
(that is why I try to buy the good stuff somewhere else before a game.)

thanks for the advise Black Tallen. :D

A good idea is to not play with old paint, also, airball paint and woodsball paint are two different things, woodsball paint is genrally harder and doesn't break that easily so it can fly through grass and obstacles before hitting it's target, but this makes it bad for airball, where you basically want the paint to break on the lightest hit.

It also depends on your gun, my gun uses gas-assist feed which makes it use the softer balls without breaking them, but if a ball breaks, it's a 100% take apart and clean for me

Not sure about your gun, if you set it too fire too fast you might be breaking the balls as they enter the chamber because they are not getting fed into the gun freely, or fast enough (called chop)

The seam around the paintballs are there from manufacturing, and you can't get rid of that ... you can stop paint from leaking out of the balls if you don't store the paint in heat, and keep the balls cool, this is why using newer ammo on the day is better than using old paint.

Just be careful buying your ammo before a game, some fields (i know paintball city) won't let you play with anything but their ammo, so you have to buy new before the game (this covers their cost, as well as making sure everyone has the same ammo type).

blades and triggers have got paint, so jsut go and ask ;)

anyways, enough ranting for now ;)

I know one should always use fresh paint.
And not leave it in the sun or for a week.
But I did not know you get two types of paint.
(Now I know – Thanks!) :D
anoyomouse wrote:blades and triggers have got paint, so jsut go and ask ;)
I also go out to Blades&Triggers to get mine. (DIDO  )
It is just that I end up wasting money range paint when I could have gotten proper paint elswhere. :(

I sometimes get paint balls with ridiculous seams.
And other problems.(cheap or Range paint).
That is why I asked for advise (thanks again!) :D

The BT TM 15 is electro-pneumatic which means it also has a electronic eye that looks for the loaded paintball.
You have to start the gun on a different mode to turn of the eye off so you can test fire it without paintballs.
It is literately programmed not to chop a ball or waste gas.

I am going to Blades&Triggers Saturday and playing this Sunday.

Well, if it's got the eye, you have another problem with crap paint is that it can block the eye and will either chop, or will not fire, won't work so great, but i've never used one with that, i just stick to e-trigger, or standard manual trigger, less can go wrong :p

Also, i won't make sunday, because i don't have transport, and i have other plans already

Shouldn't bash the BT guns, they are after all a tippmann 98 custom witha couple extras on it.

Just personally prefer the cyclone feed of the A-5

Well, we'll have to share tips and things when we see each other ;)

I will try to play once per week to catch up with my friends and get some cardio.
We can do something next time.

My team is letting me down lately.
They are mostly younger guys and 2girls that are writing final-exams.(I am the oldest member)
So I have been playing alone.

You can quickly restart it with the eye off if you suspect the eye is blocked.
Hold in the trigger and then hold start till the red light goes orange then release both.
