I see the eclipse shadow is about half way now over usa. Hopefully one day I would be able to experience a full eclipse, being super interested in astronomy, it is on my bucket list.

I replaced my CPU's thermal paste because it is about five or six years old and runs so hot. When I opened everything up, I realised the CPU cooler was probably never properly attached (my fault). So... I think it spent a couple years with inadequate cooling. On the plus side, the average running temperature on standard chat/Youtube performance is now 20-25 degrees cooler on average. And it runs more quietly.

Now I'm wondering how anyone else would check their temperatures if not in a nice graph? I suppose you could just use summary statistics. And maybe a statistical test to see if the temperatures before and after come from different distributions...

I just usually run hardware info in the background and see what max temps I get after x amount of time, and then again after making the cooling changes. Very statistical I know

Maximum temperatures are important but might not be representative. Better to use like an upper quartile or something rather than basing everything on a maximum.
