With regards to what you hear on the news and "eye witness accounts" take it with a grain of salt. Gonna sound like Trump here but I know, for a fact, that the media either blows witness accounts out of proportion or the eye witnesses do. Be it from the stress of the situation or for their minute of glory either way it does happen.

To prove my point, in Libya they did not shoot up the airport, no were there bodies in the street and mass executions.

Quite honestly it is an interesting phenomenon that happens in your body, it feels like everything does sort of slow down.. I mean I dunno if you were unconscious or conscious in your bike accident or if you even remember it but you go through through that same feelings when encountering a near death experience. However he did pass away tragically, I just don't understand why there's so much violence in the world it is saddening.

It's a win-win cycle, Fido. Mammals and other endotherms use up to 80% of their energy intake on producing heat, so the easiest way to lose weight is to make your body produce more heat, i.e. being cold. Less fat, less thermal insulation, more heat production, more energy burned, and so on.

As for what I am doing right now: Lying in bed with my laptop, trying to warm myself. Here in the higher altitudes, it can get quite cold. The thermometer reads three degrees Celsius.

Would make more sense considering they are pretty common in Cape Town and not so much the rest of the world unlike like tree rats which can be found almost anywhere.
