ZA Furries

Hey there everyone!

I'm trying to gather some statistics regarding the SA furry fandom, it's growth and some influences. I know some of the dates are quite outlandish but I just want a decent data set to work with for perspective in comparison to American communities and such. If there is anything you'd like to add feel free to comment on the poll I'm also looking for some peeps to talk to specifically regarding the SA fandom and it's history.

Joined the furry fandom doesn't specifically relate to when you made your ZaFur account since the dates predate the forum's inception. It's basically when you decided to refer to yourself as a furry interested in Anthro things. As well if you feel like it, please share what influenced you to become a furry!

I think I was aware of it a bit before through the pokemon fandom but I think I only really joined and became active in 2007.

I suppose I'll answer the rest when I have time. Very busy week. I know all about the forum but unfortunately not much from before it. I think you might struggle to get information from much earlier. There were definitely some furs around but very few and, to my knowledge, not so well connected. In addition, most of those that were active before are not active forum users. There are also several South African furs who predate the forum but left the country before it was established.

That moment when I’m the only one who’s joined in the last two years! Feels special, I guess.

I guess I slipped into the fandom pretty quickly. Started with some innocent google image searches of dragons, which turned into dragon transformation which then went and ditched me into the furry side of things. Aand here I am two years later.

Looks like I fall into the most common category (2011 - 2015). For those who didn't know, I actually have an old account on here from 2012. It contains so much cringe that I tried to locate this site's servers to burn it down, but the security guard at the entrance caught me carrying the gasoline and matches on the way in.

That's creepy, my oldest furry account was from 2012 as well (not this site though), and joining here was in 2016.
Too many creepy coincidences, let alone also dragons!

I promise this is still happening, it's just taken a bit of a back burner. Studies are my priority at the moment ^.^
