Meh tail (attempt)

So I have wanted a tail for ages and ages. I saved up for one. But unfortunately due to certain circumstances I still cant afford one. Grrrr. So I decided yesterday (after seeing a post on furry amino about different types of tails) that I'm going to try make my own one. Settled on a yarn one coz it's the easiest and cheapest for me in regards to materials. Got a few tutorial videos which I watched on repeat last night until about 3am at which point I was quite angrily told to "Go to bed already" hehe
So I set off this morning. Found a wool/yarn selling shop literally two streets away from me. Got all my material for a grand total of...should I put the amount...hmm...yeah I will. For about R100

Been sitting working on it since I got home. Had to restart once coz I was being a doodle and didn't concentrate while braiding the base. Which is done now

Also did a lil test piece to see how I can make my tail as floofy as possible. Brushed it out. Washed, shampood and dried it. Happy to say that it is very soft and extremely floofy. Now I just need to make the rest of my floof but thats gonna take a while. Will update when I can ^.^
Btw my tail is gonna be black and purple. Possibly with some red.

Just wanna add that I am more than open to any tips/advice/help/constructive criticism.


Also just outta curiousity if my tail comes out well and lets say I start making tails to sell. (Emphasis on the IF) Would anybody here be interested in a yarn tail?

Brushing out the yarn today to make it nice and fluffy. Very long process but quite enjoyable.

I've always wondered what these yarn tails take to make. I usually work with patterns and fur. Always good to see others attempts as well. Really curious to see how this comes out ^.^ keep up the good work.

Tail is gonna take a while to sew still and I have the nagging feeling that I'm going to run out of floofy bits before it's done o....o

Thank you. I really love it. Mostly coz its so fluffy and soft but also coz I made it almost all by myself (my mate helped a lot. Am not allowed scissors and such things...for various reasons..)
